Unboxing of Asolo Fugitive GTX hiking boot

A iconic boot that has been around for more than 10 years, pretty much the same design, the same materials on the same boot.
Why mess with perfection when you are already there.
Soldiers wear them, SF operators wear them, even toy figure wears them so these must have been some quality boot.
Can't wait to have them rocking out in the wild.

Hello. Would you recommend this shoe after 5 years? What are its strengths and weaknesses? Has it started to take on water?

Hey, Thank you for your comment. These boots are some of the most comfortable boots I have. Brand new, the aluminium lace hooks shred thru the stock shoelaces within 2 months so I would recommend you to get reinforced laces like Rhino laces. A single pair of laces lasted me years and years and is still going strong. The toe cap and foam near the front of the boot started to come apart after 2 years but the overall structure of the boot is perfectly fine. I got it resoled locally and the boots work just fine. It's not a perfect boot outta the factory but with a few mods and tweaks, it transforms into an amazing boot. Yes, I will recommend this boot if you are going to tweak it the way I did and No, I will not recommend it if you are just gonna use it straight off the factory

Edward York hey, Happy New Year to you too. Unfortunately, they do not have steel toe but the rubber front is quite hard and will take some abuse to break them.

Hey I noticed you like gear and boots, if you ever want to try a barefoot boot, check out Vivobarefoot or Joenimble. I love their shoes, natural foot shape and helps build feet muscle. I have the Scott's and primus lite. Let me know what you think.

Hey, man sorry for the late replies. I do like gear and boots and military stuff. I am not a fan of the barefoot feel, I like boots that offer protection, durable and low maintenance. will have a look at your suggestions. Thanks for the knowledge.
