That Product Owner just has so much on his plate :) "Don't worry about the technical stuff, the Developers have got that, and if not, the Scrum Master is there to help them" Love it. Excellent question, and very rich insights, some nice additions from EBM ;) Thanks RR+TM 🌟

Glad Grogu was moved to the right side of the monitor with Todd's new setup so we could still see him! 💚

I wish I had this information at the beginning of my last job. You guys do a great job of clearing up layers of confusion I had on POs. Well, the leaders of the organization itself were greatly confused as well.

Another great show, guys! Todd, with a new set up, we can hear your voice coming out louder😉

What is the difference between forecasting and "not estimating work." ? is it because the team members estimate teh work and with their estimates, the product owner forecasts?

What's the difference between a product owner and a product manager? some of the things you spoke about get done mostly by engineering leads. and not necessarily me as the product manager. Yes I do set the priority for items

Think about the next sprints (a lot of activities here but this sums them up pretty nice) 😁 while keeping an open line for the developers to collaborate on achieving the Sprint Goal.

Yup. That is what I covered under the "thinking about next sprints" stuff, while I very much like the answers to what shouldn't be a PO doing. If I would add something to those not to do stuff, then it would be woth measuring developer's productivity and reporting it in man-hours.

I have a query on Product Owner Role. Can a product owner push too much all time with an intention for pushing teams limits?

Nice discussion. :-) I have a question: "How do we capture Product Owner Efforts in form of Tasks as we do for Developers?"
@AgileforHumans3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what use that would serve -- capture PO tasks. Tasks are only for Developers to coordinate amongst themselves like a checklist. Tasks are optional in Scrum. When I start hearing an emphasis on tasks I start to wonder if a Scrum Team has autonomy or if they are being micromanaged.

All these “titles” get I the way of the actual work. It’s why there is a dichotomy between those who posses the knowledge and actually know how to do the work and those who are just in the way.

We totally agree! They were never meant to be job titles. Rather, they were meant to be a set of accountabilities that someone fulfills. Unfortunately, to your point, they have become job titles and are often fulfilled by people far removed from the actual work.

Is being a Scrum Master a prerequisite for being a Product Owner?

We did! (Face each other on purpose). Perhaps we need to keep on that :)
