Physically , Jessica definitely got the worst end poor girl was so beaten up by the end. But she was out for a long time and Definetely didn’t suffer as much as the others , psychologically of course . In my opinion Emily and Mike went through the most as Mike did A LOT and had seen a lot and Emily, whether you like her bitchy attitude or not you have to admit that her character is quick and resourceful and one of the smartest alongside Mike. And in her perspective she got betrayed by her boyfriend which she trusted and got left to die, saw beths dead corpse down in the mines and also had several near death experiences and still kept fighting and also to later almost ( or if you choose to shoot ) be betrayed by Mike and almost get shot at leaving her even more trust issues then before . Sam is neat don’t get me wrong but she falls into something similar with Jessica . She really can’t die until much later in the game in comparison to others and also she was taking a bath forever who knows how long only to be later pass out from the mask josh put on her . I admit she did great in the end but if we are talking about the overall game Mike and Emily take the cake for doing the most and suffering the most

Mike having to face the Wendigos alone in the vacant building twice, trying to save Jessica and the ending is A LOT. Emily having to face the Wendigo alone in those creepy mines was also horrible. Jess night was brutal and intense but by comparison short. Ashley & mostly Sam had to deal with the Killer AND the Wendigos. Same with Chris. I honestly would not wanna switch with any of them, but if I had to probably Matt or Ashley. If I had to make my own choice I would take Mike's Route until trying to save Jessica and then hide in the Cabin in a Locker until sunrise lol.

Beth broke her back on the rock and died right away; Hannah buried her and made the cross but dug her back up and ate her after starving in the mines for about a month. That's when she turned. In the "events of the past" thing with the totems it's shown she was possessed by the Makkapitew, which is like the alpha boss wendigo spirit. It's the thing that was chasing them in the woods. The flamethrower dude killed it right after they fell thinking it was safe since, well, he thought both sisters had died. Hope this helped ;)

@@lovelylune3 1 : Hannah's leg was broken, as explained in her diary in chapter 10. And i'd be surprised if that was her only injury given the fact she fell off a cliff. She was barely alive, so she probably tried to escape but just went gollum instead 2 : You don't turn UNTIL resorting to cannibalism, so there's no reason she wouldn't remember. 3 : Playing through the game multiple times and finding all the clues, especially the last one in the Twins category (hannah's diary) and also finding all the totems, which gets you a 3 min flashback told from the POV of the flamethrower guy (The Events of the Past, you can find it on youtube)

To keep Emily from pushing Ashley in the final chapter, Emily will have to use the flare gun against the wendigo after her fall into the mines AND doesn't mess up any of the final quick time events. I think its chapter 6 or 7. If she is never bit by the wendigo in that chase sequence, Mike has nothing to confront her about, therefore she wont push past Ashley in chapter 10.

What I think everyone did after the game was over. Sam: Due to her experiences that fateful night, she writes the horrors into a book, both as a documentation and warning to those who are unaware to the horrors in the mine. Mike: For a couple years, he stayed by Jessica’s side, helping her with therapy due to her traumatic experiences down in the mines. Once she was well enough, Mike left to go back to the mountain and continue what the flamethrower man left off. Hunting or containing the Wendigos. Chris and Ashley: They finished school and got married, Chris becoming an engineer and Ashley becoming a psychologist for those who suffer PTSD. Emily: She finishes school, leaving the group and what happened that night behind to pursue her degree. In her mind, she just wants to move forward. Matt: Got a football scholarship and got a full ride through college, meeting a nice girl and settling down to get married after graduation. Jessica: Going to therapy regularly, trying to cope and mend the damages that night left on her body and mind. With her family and friends at her side, she makes slow progress.

I love every aspect about the finale here, between the image of all 5 survivors in the cabin rushing up the switchback staircase amidst the tense music establishing the final set piece in the lodge, to the horror/action-movie level of planning done by Mike and Sam as they see the gas leak and strategize, in a moment's notice, to turn the entire lodge into a gas-bomb. There's also something thematic about Hannah, as the Wendigo, saving not only Sam's life at the end, but through such action of grabbing the other Wendigo, the entire plan's capacity to operate; in the Prologue, Sam stood up for Hannah about the prank, and in the finale, intentionally or not, Hannah saved Sam, and the other 4 lodge survivors, in turn. On top of that, because basically everybody in the lodge (besides Chris) can die in the finale depending on your actions, it adds to the tension, and makes the image of Sam making it out just as the place detonates, killing the Wendigos inside it, all the more dramatic and awesome when everybody survives. It really makes you feel like your actions had a tangible effect on the horror movie-esque finale as the survivors rise outside the lodge as the helicopter radios in its findings.

The whole story of Until Dawn is put together better, I think the graphics/animation are better. I also think the "best ending" is better in this game then in Man of Medan. There was something I liked about all the characters, but MAN is Emily rude. My favorite characters were probably Sam and Mike. I'm actually upset that Josh died. What he did was awful, and he never should have done that to his friends, but his mental illness was so strong and so intense that it took over him. What really is heavy about this game is how much it really played on Josh's mental deterioration. I mean, he had symptoms of so many things: bipolar disorder, depression, multiple personalities, schizophrenia, and even more. It's just sad that he died the way he did (or becomes a wendigo, depending on how you play) without being rehabilitated.

In the end, Dr. Hill and the psychological system would be the madman because the medicines and drugs they gave Josh deals with serotonin and depression, while he had schizophrenia which is caused by having too much dopamine. None of the drugs worked, and Josh sometimes even overdosed to try to make it work. The system prescribed the wrong drugs because they didn't know, or more likely, didn't care about Josh enough to give him the right treatment.

So people are saying that the wendigo are creatures who only think to kill and feast. They no longer retain their memories, they aren't self-aware, and shouldn't recognize people. However, the Wendigo killed the stranger with one clean swift slice, yet only scratched emily lightly, the wooden door thing clearly wasn't an obstacle (seems like plot convienence) The Wendigo also doesnt kill Josh immediately if you find the clue, so it seems that it understood josh's call of "Hannah!" Also the Hannah wendigo saves sam at the end by tackling the other wendigo down So it seems that the wendigo aren't mindless, theres proof here that they recognize people, is that right?

Err, not really. If you mess up and move the control while wendigo Hannah is trying to find Sam, or make the wrong choice for Sam NOT to hide, then it would still kill Sam without mercy (watch PewDiePie playthrough). And I'm pretty sure Hannah was leaping towards Sam, but grabs the other wendigo by mistake. As for how Hannah recognises Josh... no idea if she does (i'm hoping that she does so that we don't have just another mindless monster)

Yeah I think they make it somewhat obvious that the Wendigos retain some kind of memory (or at least in Hannah's case, since she's only been like that for a year). Also I suppose it was a unique situation since wendigos probably wouldn't often be around the people they once knew. She seems to avoid killing Mike throughout the game (although plot armour was involved too, but still). I suppose you've got to remember that all she can see through is some weird infrared vision that detects movement, which would explain why she was okay with killing her old friends. But she still used to be human and there are little things in the game that hint she recognises them in some way.

if you found the diary in chapter 10, she didn't slowly go mad.. day 30 she decided to eat her sisters corpse to survive. day 33 she had lost all form of reasoning. 3 days is hardly slowly. but what I can't understand is what she lived on for thirty days, and how the normally scared girl who Hannah portrayed was able to stay sane for that long... I'd probably have killed myself under 5 days In to be perfectly honest.

I wish there was a way to save the Flamethrower Guy. He was a cool character and he would've been useful at the end because he could just use his flamethrower to blow up the cabin. There should've been AT LEAST ONE way to save him. He only died because he told Chris to run when he clearly new Windigos were near. It would've been nice for HIM to tell the characters that he saw Hannah and Beth die. Also I would've liked to see other possible deaths of him. His end credits scene could've been cool too. Coldsky 26 I kinda wish there was a secret ending scene if Chris and Sam both made it out and you found every totem and all clues from the 1952 clueline, which shows them in the interview room either with everyone else or by themselves, and Sam quietly pulls out the flamethrower guy's journal while Chris either looks over at Emily (if she also survived and was bitten), Jess (if she survived), Mike being shaken about either shooting or almost shooting Emily (if Mike survived and Ashley had revealed the truth), Ashley sitting in the corner crying (if she survived and did not reveal the truth whether Emily was shot or not), or looks at an empty interview room and imagines the others there (if Chris and Sam were the sole survivors.) Chris pulls out a lighter and a flare gun and says one of two lines depending on who survived; he says "Let's get these sons of bitches. For everyone." if everyone else died (not counting Josh), and "Let's get these sons of bitches. For Josh." if everyone but Josh lived. He still says the second line even if Josh did live.

Messing with Evidence messes up things...That's why if you tamper with a crime scene you will get arrested cause it will take longer and make it harder to find the suspect- You are taking care of afterwards. There is a lot of evidence on them and their clothing, washing it off messes up their chances to figure out what happened besides what they were told, evidence gives more clues than a story you're not sure is true.

Got this game for 20-something dollars on the PS Store and I just finished it. Wow, what an amazing game. Truly a masterpiece. It was so cool playing a game where nearly every choice affects the story, who lives, etc. This game felt like a whole new genre never before seen in video games. Everything about this game impressed me. Until Dawn is a game I will never forget. 10/10
