This game was amazing. It also shows just how strong Kratos is, the first fights in the game is a boss fight where you beat an entire god and Poseidon at that, then Kratos falls to his lowest and beats powerful enemies then the King of the Underworld at his lowest then climbs back up Mount Olympus just to kill even more gods, titans, and hella enemies. One of my favorite games

Kratos later kicks him into the River Styx, And later still the captain is summoned back as a spirit during the barbarian king boss fight in GOW2. He's the guy that Kratos kills three times in two games. Interestingly he's also mentioned in GOW4 in the text for a treasure map left by the guy who took over as captain after he died.

Yo know hat would be the most epic moment in PlayStation? All godz in once... Hades with his Hades blades and you have to dodge his attacks or grab on the collumns, poseidon with his hippocampi (that horse) and you see his Shadow so you know where he is gonna hit, helios Who blinds you when he hits you while he is flying, Zeus Whos like a normal boss and Hermes Who is trying to distract you and when you would ignoring him then he will knock you and you have to grab him. Just when Zeus have circle up on his head then kratos trying to stab him with Olympus blade, but helios blinds kratos and Zeus throws him to poseidon and he is trying to smash kratos and Hades trying to take his Soul but kratos gets spartan rage, stabs poseidon and throws him at helios, they both falling. Kratos smash helios head and throws poseidon at rock. Then Hades is trying to take his Soul again but kratos grabs his blades and pull him, then jumps at him, bind his neck and throws him into the abyss for strangle him. Hermes runs at kratos and kratos cuts his leg then kratos smash Hades neck by pulling and Zeus throws at kratos with lightling but kratos dodging and makes that what in gow 1 but poseidon is trying to stop him with electricity and kratos breaks his arms so he stabs Zeus...

The reason why his body is there, in the god of war noval (this noval happens at the time kratos is the new god of war) the worshippers of Ares wanted to bring him back using ambrosia, a special type of flower/plant. It was unknown to the gods from where this plant/flower even came from but they were aware it could bring back dead gods. The issue was even Zeus was afraid to use this plant/flower because when a dead god came back he/she was way more powerful, with insane abilities that would have made Zeus look like a Macdonald's toy, literally that god would have had abilities of the unknown domain of death to where a dead god is sent, but this insane power came with a heavy price, that god would have been vexed, angry, annoyed, raged filled and completely lost to madness and fixated at the reason why the god died in the first place, while the mind of that god completely gone and lost to insanity. So Zeus sent kratos to destroy every ambrosia plant/flower and kill every follower of Ares so he didn't come back. Because if Ares came back he would have been an even bigger threat to Zeus then every threat Zeus has ever faced that includes kratos in the following games which happen after this novel, Ares would have easily killed everyone and every god with very little effort, A completely vexed angry Ares with mind that's lost to madness and insanity completely rage driven god with abilities and powers that suppress Zeus in every way shape and form would have easily wiped out Zeus and every god there, but at the same time Ares would have been fixated with the death of kratos since he was the reason he died. It could have been a great game if that actually happened but the nature of ambrosia making a god way more powerful and completely driven mad and insane, kratos wouldn't have stood a chance so I understand how that plot hole was fixed by Zeus sending kratos to destroy all the ambrosia and followers.

I just watched all of GOW Ragnarok... I was underwhelmed. Kratos didn't even want to fight so the big battle felt kinda like 'the script says so' and the battle itself was... meh. This is a whole game for one massive battle and has amazing set pieces to the point 5 minutes in its already insane. I liked GOW 4's introspection angle and figured it could build up to some major Kratos-cold-righteous-fury-murder but.... wow. It actually got less exciting than 4 and is nothing compared to this. Still, thanks for playing and recording all of them, we appreciate your effort. Even a year later.

I know it dovetails with the myth of Pandora, but I don’t think Kratos acts out of hope. What moves Kratos is his iron will as a soldier. He has no use for hope so he stabs himself and it is given to all humans, even those who “won’t know what to do with it”.
