I mean -- the sound was popping out of existence, the music just ended abruptly sometimes, the dogs don't have an explosion sound, volume levels are completely inconsistent for sound effects and character barks and cutscenes often and consistently have their sound offset by a few seconds. I was actually surprised this wasn't just my underpowered computer back when I played it as a kid. The game is plenty broken and janky in great many places. Seeing all that though does have a special place in my heart.

Warrior Within is easily the best and most iconic Prince of Persia in the series. Whenever I think Prince of Persia, I think Warrior Within. It has the best and most iconic Prince design. They even chose the Warrior Within look for the movie and also went back to it for the last game, Forgotten Sands. It also has the most memorable music in the series and the best artwork, both official and also from fans. Some great talent behind Warrior Within in every department.

The surroundings in the Past doesn't look very different to the Present, in fact some of the traps and hanging flags in the Past can still be seen and still working in the Present. My guess is the difference between the Past and the Present in this game is between 100-500 years. The entire prince of persia franchise was such an amazing story and had great character development for the prince. In 1 he was immature, passive, boyish, starting the journey looking for glory. In 2 he came to contact with his darker side and embraced it, was aggressive and determined, having to face his own death. In 3 he has to go back in time, figurativeley, to reflect on what he did wrong and finally, mature, not trying to run from consequences anymore and learning to care for others, growing into a worthy king. What great childhood memories, all from a game.

This goes unspoken but what I loved about the entire Prince of Persia series is that there is no hit counter or game mechanic that gives you an exam and expects you to perform the best fits despite presenting the player with a huge library of possible moves you can pull off and ways you could dispatch a foe. You do you. Maybe I am too casual a gamer but I don't know when gaming had this trickle down effect where no hit runs, super hard bosses, mega time-sinks in needlessly getting through empty barren lands became a thing. Games of this era and even the Tomb Raider trilogy only had those aspects in a game that needed to be there. Every room, every traversal platform that was there, needed to be there. Anyway, maybe I am a 36 year old man, clinging too nostalgia and can't adapt to present.

And to think Assassin's Creed was actually going to be a new PoP game. Then they thought Prince doesn't need any assassins or bodyguards with him (which is true Prince can take care of himself:D) and it evolved into a new game series Assassin's Creed.

@@zierkeus637 Does anyone know how many years is the gap between the Present and the Past? When the Prince entered the Portal of Time he was teleported to the past. The surroundings in the Past doesn't look very different to the Present, in fact some of the traps and hanging flags in the Past can still be seen and still working in the Present. My guess is the difference between the Past and the Present in this game is between 100-500 years. I played this game countless times but I can't find answers anywhere, even the Wikia doesn't state it.
