I think from " new parents" you are referring toward nowadays modern parents...if I am correct then let me tell you one thing that every parent are new according to time of being parents of themselves.... either it's you or your parents or grandparents for everyone it was always new it is new and it will remain new to your children when they will be parents....now the problem is every parent want to grew up their child according to their own way and don't want any interfere but they forgot their own childhood when they enjoyed love and care of their grandparents....but they don't want to have Same things for their own children.... isn't it a hypocrisy of the parents.

As far as I remember my Grandparents pampered us a lot. But when it comes to discipline etc they were on the same page as my parents. Now I see my in laws interfering a lot. Give tv, give mobile, let them eat whenever they want, let them sleep late. These things should be done in a systematic way. They should understand that now we are parents and kids are completely parents responsibility
