Join me on a scenic 3 km trek to Shiv Dhank Mandir in Solan, a beautiful temple nestled in the hills near Chandigarh. The trek, while moderately easy, offers breathtaking views of nature and the surrounding forest. Shiv Dhank Mandir holds great spiritual significance and is believed to be an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Legend has it that the temple has existed for hundreds of years, and devotees come here to seek blessings and experience the divine serenity of the place.
The temple itself is hidden away in the hills, giving it a peaceful and secluded vibe. The path to the mandir is well-marked, and as you walk, you'll be surrounded by dense trees and the sounds of nature, making it a perfect escape from city life.
However, during my trek, I faced an unexpected challenge. I had flown my drone to capture the stunning views from above, but the dense trees in the hills caused me to lose the home point. The DJI's auto-return feature malfunctioned and kept updating the home point multiple times, leading to confusion. With the drone’s battery running dangerously low, I had to land it somewhere along the trek path. Finding it later turned into quite an adventure!
Despite all efforts, I was unable to film the entire experience because I was fully focused on searching for the drone. After what felt like an endless search, we eventually found it, much to everyone’s relief. With the drone safe, we continued our trek to Shiv Dhank Mandir, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
The day ended on a high note, with no losses, and we got to enjoy the spiritual aura of the mandir. It was an unforgettable experience of adventure, faith, and relief.
