I always love Lord Shiva ji. to me he is thee God . I been confused lately cuz some Hindu scholar says that all the Vedas teach that Lord Vishnu is thee God, and that Lord Shiva and other Deva an Devi are servant to Lord Vishnu. I need to know the truth. I need to worship thee Lord Highest God. I dnt wanna pray to any Deva or servant to the Actual God. is it true that Vedas teach that Vishnu is the Actual God Lord, and all others are servant to him???. any one please respond to me. Namaste.

Saffiyeh Jaffer OM NAMAH SHIVAY.i am a shiva devotee. it is like that the three god BRAHMA,BISHNU & MAHESHWAR(RUDRA SHIV,MAHAKAL,BHOOTHNATH ,MAHAMRITYUNJOY....) they r actually same & equal & also they r the expression of one(that is SUPREME SOUL or ISHWAR or ঈশ্বর ).ISHWAR express himself in different form to maintain the creation. ISHWAR as the form of BRAHMA, create the universe same way as the form of BISHNU, bring up the universe & as the form of SHIV or RUDRA he destroys all the negativity of the universe for the new & sound creation. u can understand in this way that the water has three forms ---solid or ice, liquid or normal water & gaseous or vapour but all the three substances are chemically same, they have the elements which are *H* & *O* . so though they have different form but they made of same component.now it is your choice that what u will choose, u can choose the ice or the water ....but all the form of water is essential u can not say that only liquid form is enough but if there was no vapour how will be rain & if there was no ice how will be the cotinous flow of river. now come to the point no one superior god ,no one is inferior .if u devote urself to SHIVA then shiva is ur whole, entire & BRAHMA,BISHNU is the other form of great god SHIVA. if u hurt them u will hurt directly SHIVA not indirectly bcoz shiva is everywhere & within them also. in *SHIV MAHAPURAN* (book of shiva) in a conversation SHIVA SAYS ''who will dishonor shree BISHNU i will not pardon him" & SHREE BISHNU says "who will disgrace MAHADEVA i will not forgive him/her" Both of them not only respect each other but love themself also. so if u love shiva ,then good, very good u can search SHIVA within u & u will find ,but there is need of simplicity, devition & specially the selfless love. wish u a bright spiritual life. thank you OM NAMAH BHAGABATE RUDRAYA 😀😀😁😁😁

Shiva and vishnu are one and the same, both supreme personalities. God just expresses himself in different forms so that all people of different nature can relate to him and reach him in their own way. In simple words shiva suits more of introvert people while vishnu suits more of extrovert people. Though there is no such rule.

The paramatma is the god and vishnu shiva and bramha is the same and one. God is the one you see through your eyes. That is why sanatana dharma has many gods because the god you see may not be god for others. So if you love shiva he is thee god for you. Dont get confused.

Dear saffiyeh jaffer . I think you got wrong information from some Vaishnava sect of Vishnu worshippers, or ISCON " you go and research some of the scholar books you can find entire vedic corpus versas full of lord Shiva mentioning him as Brahaman or ultimate reality. Example satarudriyam from yajurveda, Mrityunjaya mantra from Rig veda. And sathapatha brahamana kaushiktha brahamana, and principal Upanishads like Svetaswara Upanishad, kena,Katha, Prasanna, mandukya, are mentioning lord shiva as Brahaman or ultimate truth, based on the Vedanta saiva sects came in to existence like Kashmiri saivam, pasupatha saivam,Veera saivam, lingayat saivam, Siddhanta saivam, etc . Hinduism having three sects saivam, saktham, Vaishnavism. Some Vaishnava people tell wrong information about Siva and reduce home to servant of God . But no one can deny the veda and Vedanta their lies won't work. if you see entire India shiva worship prevail from Kasmir to Kanya kumari, Sri Lanka,Nepal, java,Bali, etc because lord shiva is full of Vedas, Upanishads, agama, mythology, ithihasa like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Shiva is ultimate Brahaman of Vedanta and Upanishads and vedas

Dalshina Murthy loosely translates to The Divine Statue of the South. Because Shiva was originally The Dravidian god. Even depicted in the Indus Valley seals as 'Pashupati"

( Vyash the Author of Mahabharata he mentioned Shiva is smaller than sub atomic particle at the same time he mentioned that Shiva is Greater than Anything Greatest) ..Shiva is ultimate supreme God Meaning of Lingam (No Shape) (DeathLess,Endless) Mahadeva Meaning is "0" its mean nothing.... Come to the point Who is Shiva All things comes from nothing so nothing is Shiva (nothing means Black Hole) Lingam Shape is ellipsoidal all Galaxy Shape is also like Ellipsoidal Linga had three part 1.lower part is Bramha 2.Middle part is Vishnu 3.upper part is Shiva Endless unlimited that's why its shape like ellipsoidal (like egg shape) I will explain scientificaly Protan,Nutron and Electron our Rushish use Bramha,Vishnu, Mahesh instead of English words Electron always Attract with Proton's .Thats why Brahma most around lord Vishnu. If u look at the portrait of Lord Vishnu Brahma emerged with his novel Shiva was neutron so he sperate from them....Atom means matha parvati Autom always attract with Neutron that's why our Rushish brought the idea Shakthi is the part of shiva When neutron disturb disaster accord. P+N+E = Atoms power it mean Matha Parvathi God is 1 Shiva means Nothing it means "0" "O" means Lingum #Shiva Computer laughe also 0 & 1 Numbers system start with 1 and end with 9 Hinduism given "0" without zero number is limited with "0" Unlimited God is one it means 0.00000001 & 0.999999999 Without "0" Number is incomplete so #Without_Shiva_all_things_are_Nothing Aum Namh Shivaya

Seriously, after getting used to swami sarvapriyananda's lectures, this was such a patience tester. Sir, please, if you can't articulate in English, please do share your wisdom in Hindi. You're the first swami am heariny who said "the" Shiva, "the" Vishnu? Gosh. Never expected such poor delivery from Vedanta society of NY. Would've really appreciated if you talked in Hindi atleast.

Shiva-Kali are not in the original Sanatana Dharma. In the Vedas, Upanishads, Gita there is no mention about Shiva-Kali.

Dipak Basu I think you don't have any knowledge of Vedas, Upanishads , read Vedas , tatriya samhitha and sathapatha brahaman you can see lot of reference about lord Shiva , satarudriyam is part of yajur veda part 4 you can find the universal pervasiveness of lord Rudra , and the mantra" om namah shivaya" is also from yajur veda satarudriyam portion. Again lot of lord Shiva names like maha deva, Rudra, isana, bhava,Sarva, ugra,Bhima, pasupathi, asani, all are in Vedas represents Sivas is all pervasiveness each name represents ,fire, water, earth, sun, moon, akasa, air, and universe. And maha Mrityunjaya mantra from Rig veda, out of eleven principal Upanishads you can find lot of versas mentioning brahaman with names Isana, isanam,Siva, hara, Rudra, isa, purasha, you can find more direct reference in svetaswara Upanishad, and lot of Upanishads like kena,Katha, prasna, mandukya, mundaka Upanishad you can find reference like sivam, isanam, isana etc to mention Brahaman . Even lot of great mantras are from vedas, like satarudriyam, Mrityunjaya mantra, and lot of huge vedic corpus is describing brahaman as lord shiva. I don't know where you get the idea that shiva didn't mention in Vedas, Upanishads. Based on the Vedanta ( Upanishads) saivisam scripts came different saiva sects like pasupatha, kapalika, kalamuka,Veera saiva, lingayat saiva, Kashmiri saiva,Tamil saivam, Siddhanta saivam etc. Only God who is continuously worshipped from 3000 BC to current date is lord shiva . I think either you are young and immature with out any knowledge of Vedas Upanishads, or you're wrongly informed . Because of innocents like you we are reducing the greatness of our religion and cultural heritage . At least go to shiva temple at the time of Abhisheka the priests will chant vedic mantras . I advise please do research or acquire some knowledge from experts in respective fields . Don't expos your self by reading novels and other stories

Mahakali or adya shakti was present in the Vedas as devi raatri.. the ratri suktam and devi suktam talks about the mother only.. in chhandogya upanishad brahman appears as haimavati uma in front of the devas.. The name kali also appears as the names of tongues of agni.. the suktam dedicated to aditi talks about the mother of the universe..mother kali was always there, although the tantras described her more than the vedas..

@Sunil Bhardwaj no there's vishnu suktam and narayana suktam about lord vishnu while a significant part of taittriya aranyak talks about rudra being the purusha..The name shiva is also present in narayana suktam but the first actual mention of shiva-hara-rudra or mahadev was found in the svetashvatara upanishad..
