Shri chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established Maratha empire. And Maratha empire expanded after that. They took 83 % India under their control after Mughal. Even delhi sultan worked under Maratha empire. British took India from Maratha empire. They signed treaty of peace with Maratha then they broke treaty and came to war again again until they defeated Maratha empire in 1818 . After that India largely went under British Empire. 🚩

This is played for Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. And also during Ganesh Puja mainly in Maharashtra. During the wars this drum which is known as the "TASHA Dhol" was played along to in a way intemidate the opposing armies. In situations where a war was being fought in an open area where the eco could be heard from around. In a way to make the moral of the infantry or foot soldiers who would take on from the front aware and warned as well as hearing the sound of such drums in those days like a massive attack was to be launched. The moral of running to their death would be even more tampered and enlisting fear amongst the opposing side's soldiers. Marathas were extremely good in the art of Ambush. Now put your self in their shoes of the opposing side hear the sound of their drums. Echoing in the valley from Miles away and. Still not in the view of the recky and reconosanse party. Sometimes they would also use divergence techniques when or if there were reinforcements being sent for battle. And Marathas were known to strike with the element of surprise by initially taking advantage of the diverted and slightly tampered mood of the opposition army. And then infiltration within the main section killing most of the moral. Now left with elephants and horses which would later be used
