What's up, people! I just wanted to let you know I'm now aware I have access to the solo material of both Agnetha and Frida, so we'll have plenty to go through after the ABBA journey proper. And I'll look into any possibilities for the guys' material outside of ABBA. Cheers!

I bet you will be surprised, especially when hearing Frida´s two first english solo albums - the first one being a fairly big hit worldwide! They both diifer very much to the ABBA sound! But we´ll have to wait for that, after you have gone through the last of ABBA´s amazing cataloque! I can´t wait for your reactions to The Visitors and the comeback album after almost 40 years - Voyage!!! And what a voyage it has been with ABBA! ❤

This was released as a 12" only single in the UK in the summer of '81, quite a while after the album's release, because the clubs had picked it up on it's electro-disco vibe. It was the best-selling 12" single in the UK for a long time, until New Order's Blue Monday overtook it. What a tune - almost a religious experience, it's like a hymn to irrational jealousy. The way the beat hits at the beginning, the funky guitar, than that vocal fall and stop before the huge chorus, like being in a cathedral, the church of obsessive love. The way it builds, those keyboards at the end as the voices drift up to the heavens....it's easily in my Top Ten Abba tunes. My Dad loved it too. Amazing.

This song is spectacular. The audience go wild when it gets played at the ABBA Voyage concert in London. The next track is a live concert recording. It became very meaningful when around 2016 (?) all four ABBA members got together at a private event and Agnetha and Frida performed the song to a small crowd live. It was back then that ABBA fans were hopeful this could be the beginning of a reunion (and it kinda was).

As a devoted fan of Vivaldi (I haven’t forgotten your comment in the “As Good As New” reaction which was awesome), the Baroque era, and ABBA, it’s only fair that this is my favorite song of theirs. It’s a combination of everything I love. The opening of the song, the arpeggios leading up to the chorus, and the harmonies along with the bass during the chorus just speak to me. It gets even better at the very end of the final chorus when that Bach-like synth comes in and fades out with the song. I’ve been enjoying the ABBA reactions and the analysis you provide before and after the songs. Always impatiently waiting for the next one. Keep up the great work!

This is one of their majors. Some would say its like a Bach tune, with a disco beat. But there really is something sacred and psalm-like about the chorus.. and sometimes its like art and science coming together when listen to them, in a way.

Well, for me, this is THE track of the Super Trouper album. I can’t believe how it still sounds ahead of it’s time even though it’s over 40 years old. Benny was the boss on this track and he had an absolute field day with every element and just indulged himself with the huge layers and various sounds from the driving synths. This was a major club hit in the U.S. and it sounds amazing being pumped out through a big sound system in a club. You seemed a little surprised actually that this would have come out of ABBA and you wouldn’t be too far off base because I think a lot of us ABBA fans who remember this track when it first came out, especially hearing it in dance clubs, were actually surprised and in a very good way for sure. The 12” Club Mix of this track is an absolute banger and you should seriously have a reaction video for it. There are some amazing sonics which are in the 12” mix of this banger you really would appreciate.

ABBA embraced disco but gave the genre better lyrical content. Also the production is ahead of most of their contemporaries... truly pioneers of giving dance music a mix of real instruments and synths. Also with tracks like this and the song "Voulez Voux", Benny and Bjorn ( along with Giorgo Morodor Stateside) provided the imprint for Hi-NrG music

Hello , have a good day, so nice to see you return with more ABBA songs "Lay all your love on me" (1980) It is part of the album "Super Trouper" and it was their third single in 1981, the first in 12" format, it was #7 in UK Charts and #1 in US Dance Charts "Lay all your love on me" takes up in an isolated way the disco style left by his previous album "Voulez Vous" It has an extraordinary production, especially for voices and choirs It's pretty good (7pts), but it doesn't appeal to me as much as other ABBA songs. I admit that personally I don't like 'disco sound' that much Still, in this disco genre, I like them a little more: "If it wasn't for the nights" (ABBA's best disco track) Summer Night City As good as new Voulez Vous Gimme gimme gimme This is the one I like the least (with "I have a dream") of the 20 Top10 that ABBA has in the UK This explain highly of sublime quality of ABBA's most successful singles (between 7.5pts / 10pts) In your time ABBA did not have an official video (like for "The winner takes all", "Super trouper" and "Happy new year", this last one in Spanish too) But in this historic return of ABBA it became more important, because it is included (with shocking futuristic images) in the setlist of the new Voyage concerts, and was also chosen for the new official lyric videos that ABBA is launching this year, that is the new lyrics videos with more views (more than 15 million views now) Thanks again for bringing ABBA's music and hope to continue with more ABBA Kind regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South America

You played the original mix of the album which joined the final tack which was live and the skip wasn’t noticeable . When they released it as a single or added to a hits compilation , the took the applauses out and more additional synth notes are appreciated hidden beneath those ,which for me personally are one of the best parts of the song. That happens also with Dancing Queen which some albums lowered the track before the great Benny’s synth ending and which Benny also used to finish the song abruptly at concerts

Looks like most of what i came here to say has already been said! ABBA are often called (dismissed as?) a '70s disco outfit but they didn't get any serious club kudos until late '79 (Gimmie!), with this and then another you've yet to listen to. As we reach the end apart from the last ‘live’ track and a couple of bonus tracks, we leave behind the pure perfect production of this album to the troublesome ‘The Visitors’. From brand new digital recording equipment in the studio causing a headache as they sounded so different to the handful of analogue tracks already recorded, to a newly divorced Benny and Frida to ABBA just not really enjoying the recording sessions anymore. One track in particular took months to finish as they just couldn’t get it right. You’re in for a real treat as we get into ABBA in their ‘we’ve done it all, where do we go from here, mature phase’. Prepare for HiNRG Cold War disco drama!
