The system of governance in the police departments in Pakistan, pacifically in the Punjab police is completely broken. In the modern world “The Police” is a science and crimes are solved by the scientific methods. Unfortunately, in Pakistan since it’s creation in 1947, no one in the political and government elite made any effort to address the issue. Just look at the recruitment process, what a pity how politicians (MNAs and MPAs) collect funds for getting someone a job as a constable. Do a research you will find many constables with bachelor and master’s degrees. There is no promotion criteria, constable or someone fortunate enough to get a job as a ASI may only get few promotions, because all the senior police positions are occupied by “Noori” aliens. These people (Men and Women) join the police services of Pakistan as PSP officers and completely or partially block all opportunities for promotions for Upper and Lower subordinates.
