For what it’s worth, my “dark boards” are “orange” as well. I was expecting a walnut. This is like a light mahogany stain. Eh. Not the end of the world. If you’re used to getting punched cardboard to play with, this is better. The woodwork isn’t amazing. It’s cheap pine. I liked your explanation btw.

Thanks. Yeah, I really wished it was a nicer wood with a darker stain. The game is a great one though.

Loved this game. Such a shame because the quality of the boards, the stain, and rope are all disappointing. The stones are literally the nicest component, and that’s not good. Mine were also vastly different sizes of stones.

I think the variation in stones is great. Just disappointed in the look of the wood. Otherwise, I think it’s great.
