Use a revolut card which you can transfer money to so limit how much could be lost if stolen. No European charges either.

That’s the card that was taken and they was trying to move money across from my main account luckily it was stopped. It was the shock of notifications and confusion that got us first however we were lucky. They will try everything possible.

Sorry about your bad experience. I’ve heard of people in this country carrying mobile card machines and trying to get signals from people by standing next to them! Luckily I’ve never had a problem in Benidorm but it does happen. Always have my card even though it’s on my phone. 🙈. Look forward to your next vlog

I just found your channel and I had to subscribe… Especially after hearing what happened to you.. I remember going a few years ago with my friend for three nights never again.. the first night my friend had his new iPhone robbed in a nightclub . And luckily I seen them just before they tried to take my bag.. .. we then spent the other 2 nights in the old town and loved it! And we felt much safer.. but I wouldn’t go back just not my type of place, too many people going around drunk on the street in the new part… . Great video by the way 🙏

They wasn't very helpful to you both and asked you to leave. Did the waiter take the card, or did you lose it or get pickpocketed? Was it near the English strip? Just so I can be aware of the area. Hello thank you for your comment. It’s a difficult one because we want to name the venue however as we cannot prove it we may have come back on this if they were to ever see it. We do believe that the venue has something to do with it and that there were more than one person involved. We believe the staff knew what was happening and didn’t care. We cannot confirm it was just this venue as we believe it goes on in other venues in Benidorm and other places around the world. All we can say is that it wasn’t on the main strip and we think we may have been marked in another pub before entering this one which are fairly close together. We have since read that certain gangs who may hang around these venues target the British if they see them drinking. If you google this you will find more info on other scenarios that have happened in Benidorm and other places. Saying all that we have now moved on from this and when we return to Europe we will be more cautious and observant. 😊 happy travels 😊

We used to have a little apartment in torrevieja 1st 5 yrs was good then these Africans come over a started robbing everyone braking into apartments stealing boats motorman’s caravan the lot at knife point we sold it and got out at a good time 6 months later the prices of apartments dropped 30% everyone just wanted out

Great video, sorry for your bad experience. We’ve been using chase account abroad which is an app on your phone and a card. It has No charges using it abroad and I believe a Monza account is similar. Can set up on your phone in minutes. Used it on two tours in France with no issues all you do is transfer money whatever you want into that account. Hope you find this useful.

My son is 35 he went skiing last month in Switzerland his first night they went out to a little pub .he woke up the next morning and they had took 4grand out his bank .he still had his card but they cloned his card .sadly its going on everywhere.

@@lifes4touring The barmen "pretend" to guess your English accent, of course you say where you are really from, Newcastle for example. They now have your name, card details and an approx. location in England. They also ask how long you are staying, that gives them a timeframe to work with.

We did think of naming and shaming however after logging with the police we thought it best not to without proof. We have heard since that there has been a rad by police on one of the venues. Apparently there is a video out of the rad not that we have seen it yet. Thank you for your support. 😊

Hi, sorry to hear about the card scam. Re the water valve pipe topic. When you find a solution I would be very interested to see it. One thought is when you have the levelling fitted, have the air suspension at the same time. I had both done on a auto sleeper. Fabulous addition to the van and it will give you a few more centimetres height when you need it at the push of a button. Well, two to be precise. Safe travels.

We use a money card which we only put a small amount on we never use our bank card luckily you got away with it but that’s what we have done for years ours is a post office card other cards are available we have just come back from travelling round Spain We use motorhome aires paid and unpaid as we find them better value for money than campsites that’s only our options enjoy

Hi, it's the best way to protect your money and we will be more careful in how we use cards in the future, pating by your phone wallet seems the safest doing some research however still using a card where we can load a small amount at a time just incase. I'm confused....why did you want bar staff to ring police ,was it them u thought were part of a scam? because you would normally contact your bank....for example if i was in a shop or anywhere else i wouldnt ask them to ring police ,they would just say get InTouch with bank ,unless im missing something....any way enjoying the vlogs

Thank you for your comment. We knew the bar had some involvement for sure and we were testing them to find out how they would react if we asked them to call the police. They looked very nervous because they didn’t expect us to notice anything unusual until we had long gone from the premises. We think we were marked in one pub and followed to the next one. We cannot prove this so we cannot name and shame on this public platform as we do not want any come back from them if they were to ever see this video. We just wanted to warn people as we thought we were careful how we looked after our belongings when out. These people are clever and professionals and do not work alone. They prey on British tourists especially. We did contact the bank at the same time and we did call the police. The police couldn’t do anything and the bar staff wanted us off their premises quickly in case the police did come. All is good now though and we have learned from this and moved on. Happy Travels 😊

I really do think you should say what bar it is so people can stay away and so it stops it happening 2 some1 else because they might not be as lucky as you and could end up up with all their money gone ,i know u say you cant prove it but its not like your accusing the bar itself its just that it happend in there so i dont get why you cant name it ,im goin back there in 3 wks and dont want my money gone lol ,i think ill tuck it away in my bra or pants 😂,thanks 4 the warning tho xx

We would love to say where it is however we do think the bar was involved in some way and because we cannot prove this they may see the video and try claim defamation. Most people will be fine as long as they are aware that this goes on there. Please enjoy yourself just be careful and make sure your belongings are safe. Take cash if you can and or have your card on your phone wallet. They took the card and immediately logged on and tried taking money from the associated bank so if you don’t use a physical card you should be fine. That’s our opinion and what we will be doing from now on. It hasn’t put us off Benidorm we will just be more careful if we visit again or anywhere from now on. Have a great time 😊👍

Only use cash ....Lots of bars do not take cards .... REMEMBER YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY ....THE THEIVES ARE NOT . ( the theives go to where the tourists are )
