@@lewiemcneely9143it's extremely difficult to recycle various plastics, and doing it multiple times is hard as well, very cost prohibitive. So it's not always about effort or "getting serious" about it, if the material is bad and cannot be recycled, it's not about having the will to do it. Ideally, companies just wouldn't make materials that cannot be recycled, and there'd be materials that can easily recycled over and over made.

@@colinofay7237 All the landfill here is concerned amout is the tonnage. They have conex boxes there for recycling but you have to go there to do it and it's a long gravel road there and back. The local collectors don't have the rigs to haul seperate items. It's all bagged and weighed as a load. No coloection points so we do what we do and throw it all in and it goes away and that's it. Until someone invests money in a rig to carry seperate kinds of stuff for recycling it'll never happen.

Here in Alabama wooden pallets are used again and some are recycled into building things. Cardboard in our larger towns and cities recycle cardboard. They have wire trailers stationed at certain area and businesses break it down and place it in trailers where it is picked up and bailed. Here in North Queensland Australia we are all but 100% recycling all waste. Looking at what you are putting in we would be recycling at least 60-70% of your 800t a day. Even our domestic kerbside waste we have 2 bins 1 for general waste and the other is recycling and that goes to a dedicated facility where it’s sorted manually and some automated for processing. All our building waste is recycled and the same for commercial waste.

Up here in the northeast (New England) a lot of the landfills are ash only now but they sort threw all the ash from the incinerators where they burn the trash and pull out all the metals then the ash goes in the landfill always wondered about this kind of landfill though because there are lot of old quarrys where you could set up something like this sorting lines sort out metal and wood make mulch like you do and sell the scrap metal out of it turn in all the other plastics and cardboard to sell in bails where you are so close to ports or rail lines / yards be good use of the land instead of just being a big open pit and would supply jobs for a long time before it fills up say someone opened a quarry mined it all out then swap over to something like this even on a small scale thats jobs for 50 to 100 years maybe even more

It is to bad that things like the cardboard and pallets were not taken to the right spot. Landfill space runs out quicker when putting the wrong things in it. I know it cost a lot of money but a sorting plant will help. I know it is not practical but it would nice if all the trash was ground up. I do not know if that would help it break down any quicker. Plastic and cardboard are such huge problems. Thanks for the video.

It used to normal in my past for not tasking any worker to do a job that you're not fully capable and experienced in doing yourself. Sadly many modern industries have moved away from that style of management and as a result their workers eventually lost most / all the respect for the management in those industries. Stand in their shoes and know how tough it is, then task and reward accordingly if you want to develop a good working relationship that benefits the company and its staff...

Good morning from Germany i think 75 - 80 % of that load could have been recycled! could you not use ground up cardboard in your composting soil !?

Question sir.... Your guys on the tipping floor, Do you allow them to keep the tools and or any item they can use (not sell) that is not ready to be "trashed"?

They keep them for use at landfill. Can’t take home

I'm amazed you have a shredder type crushing machine with a conveyor belt shoot on it to break all the materials for a better packing ability.

I wonder if you put a spotter camera over your scales if you could redirect the wood heavy loads to a separate tipping floor. Give it a quick pick out with an excavator.

we have cameras but soooo many trucks coming through and you never know if trash is on the bottom

@@TheRealMrDigg I'll definitely be waiting with anticipation for you to get your picking line set up. Looking from the outside in, I feel your pain watching everything thst could be recycled getting buried. But I also understand the infrastructure to divert it is very costly and the commodities won't give you a good ROI yet.
