DONNA HADAD says she is "a Trini woman first and foremost" having been called the only Syrian comedian in Trinidad and Tobago. She also wants to dismiss the myth that "all Syrians have a lot of money and own a clothing store - NO! NO! That's definitely not me."
NIKKI COSBY Frank Martineau of Spektakula Promotions called me, as he was doing the first comedy festival at Hasley Crawford Stadium. He told me I had to do a routine lasting seven minutes, and this was in front of 17,000 people. first professional gig. After that show I began getting calls to be the first female stand-up comedian in the Caribbean.
