I've known this for 20 plus years. If an officer has any accusation made against them of racism, homophobia or anything of that sort then their career if effectively over even if the accusations are proven to be untrue. An officer told me this when I asked why gay men meeting and exposing themselves in woodland next to a school was not being dealt with. The minority groups know they have this as a weapon.

My eldest step-son was an engineer but had always wanted to join the police. He stuck it for 5 years and towards the end he would not approach an ethnic unless directly ordered to by a senior officer. They always played the race card and he would get no support from superior officers. Disillusioned he went back to a career in engineering and West Mercia police lost a good officer.

The bus incident. I've said all along the woman was totally in the wrong. When requested to do so, whether it's a bus driver, inspector or police officer to show your ticket you are obliged to do so. The woman should have been arrested and put in a cell until she complied. And people were saying, "its disgusting, she's got a child with her" and they were right but not for the reason they thought. It was disgusting because she showed her child that it's ok to break the law and get in trouble with the police then cry that you're the victim. Terrible parenting. Disgusting mother.

This police officer deserves a medal not malicious treatment from superiors, the question is why are superiors taking this line? Where is this direction coming from? The police have lost the ability to operate without fear or favour and the more time that passes the more proof of this comes out. Regular police officers know that using the baton on their own people during marches and standing back and giving other communities a pass for worse behaviour is not right nor just. The best people will leave the force altogether, is this the long game plan to replace the British with a standing army from a different community/ countries, who have no allegiance to King or Country and no qualms about treating British citizens in an unfair manner?
