Please at what day do I administer the vaccine on birds ?
@feathers_pro3 жыл бұрын
Generally the first vaccine (apart from the one given from the hatchery) should come around day 7-10. But there are times when this is not the case. A laboratory test will guide you.

Sir, here in my place, due to lack of stable electricity, we usually store our vaccines in water coolers with iced block. How about it Sir, is it okay that way ? Thank you for enlightening us. God bless.

Oh, yeah. That is okay for a very quick storage. Usually for transporting the vaccines from the point of purchase to your farm from an almost immediate use. Since you don't have reliable electricity, you should not consider keeping or storing your vaccines for long. Just buy and use same day before the ice in the cooler melts away. *An alternative is to buy dedicated vaccine flasks. The type that government officials carry around for polio vaccination. I have one here and it holds vaccines for up to 40 hours.*

@@feathers_pro it is OK sir but where we do purchase the vaccines is like 200 kilometers from our farm so at point of doc purchase we buy together with the whole vaccines for the period, then we stored it in the cooler and keep adding ice blocks on daily basis till the end like four weeks for broiler vaccination. It is tedious but we prefer it because you have to pay like 2200 transport fee to buy may be 500 naira vaccine 100 dose a times you will not get the dose you need they will tell you it is finished the only one available is 1000 doses . things are not easy here. Thank you sir.

@@hussainaabubakar2334 Wow. That's a different world you are in sir. It is really good to see from other people's perspectives. So anyone who can secure a solar powered freezer is in good business there. In summary, as long as the ice is added as frequent enough to keep the vaccines cool enough, then you are good to go. *I think the lesson is knowing the temperature range needed. 2-8°C*
