I don’t care what these Bud fanboys say, if Bud had fought Mardrimov and got beat from pillar to post and knocked out in 4. They would be the first to say something was wrong with Bud, even after moving up to 154, and still be asking questions. Because Bud has never been dominated or knocked out. And real fans would.know that’s just not the same Bud. And that would be warranted. Well, EJ fans know how EJ fights and how he maneuvers in the ring. EJ was not himself when he fought Bud. Had the fight been more competitive, and EJ still loss, perhaps there would be no questions. But, up until that fight not only has EJ never been dominated like that, Bud has never looked as dominant against any other fighter in any of the weight classes he fought in. Having said that, EJ is at fault for not being prepared, whether he took an edible, he was weight drained, or he was suffering from previous injuries. He passed the fight physical and signed the contract. Bud whooped EJ, period end of story! I ride with EJ still, and as much as I would like to see him redeem himself with another high profile fight (no pun intended), i don’t like the way EJ reacted to his loss against Bud. It showed me something about his character I’ve never seen in him before, and it suggests to me that he could fight unprepared again, fool the fans and himself, and lose. At this point, I think it’s safe to say that EJ doesn’t have his heart in fighting anymore. I’d rather see him retire, and enjoy his family.
