The anime skipped this chapter, but technically Kaguya and Shirogane did go out on an outing together because of the movie tickets from the very first episode in season 1. But it was awkward because they didn't have seats side-by-side next to each other. lol

Maki was trying to set the love-birds up, though not by implying cheating. With Maki being Kashigawa's best friend, Tsubasa asked Maki to help him pick out a gift for their aniversary (hence them shopping together), thinking he could trust her. But Maki intentionally picked out a necklace she thought Kashigawa would not like. But then Kashigawa ended up liking it, which caused Maki's reaction. ^^

To be fair to Miyuki he was under the influence when he told Kaguya that he was be able to read between the lines and he's aware that the version of him who of under the influence who said it cause Kaguya to run away which wouldn't be surprising if it cause him to doubt himself.

Remember when the boyfriend came to ask advice of the President in Season 1 and his girlfriend came up and asked him if he actually had a girlfriend. Well, if we go back to that scene the president stated that all the girls actually liked him during this moment. I have a feeling it was Maki that asked the girlfriend to ask that question.

Well, sometimes others are pointing stuff out like obvious, but forget that japan's culture is really weird. Its a weird "collectivism" society which actually fits more communism type ideals. Sacrifice individuality to fit with the group and woke for the greater good even if it means sacrificing individual good. So when the culture is all different, it's hard to get some things right even when comparing to their own past stuff. Like I'm an Indian & I know how varied the Asian culture is & the west is very similar, divided into either USA, Europe, or Latin America type separations. So going to cafes, singing, etc are just normal in Japan while a date in USA.

@@arnabbiswasalsodeep I haven't seen much of Maki as of yet. I'm just starting to read the manga too. Maki can be like Ishigami and really shine in later episodes but in this episode I didn't like her and would have preferred more screentime with our core group together. Maki does get better next time but that's my opinion on episode 3.
