The disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann is a heart-breaking mystery. Ever since she went missing on a family holiday in Portugal in May 2007, her beautiful face has haunted the world. After 13 years of torment and frustration, there’s finally been a significant breakthrough in the case. It’s brought the best - and tragically, the worst - news for Maddie’s family. Three months ago, German prosecutors announced they had a prime suspect, 43-year-old convicted sex-offender Christian Brueckner. But authorities also confirmed the suspicion no one wanted to hear: Madeleine was most likely dead.
