I think it's good for football overall that the attacking team is given the benefit of the doubt when the officials are unsure. However, I've got two issues in this instance. Firstly, the assistant referee wasn't in the right position (in-line with the last defender) to definitively make that call. Secondly, isn't the upper body considered a legal ball playing body part and therefore should be considered when making an offside call? As for the Miguel foul, it looked like the referee called it before the ball went in so I do accept it.
