That is the problem in most African countries. The locals tend to take advantage of the returnees and foreigners. I have also experienced that. As an African who has been away for a while, anytime I return home, even speaking the local language, majority still want to take advantage of you. Always be careful when in most of these African countries. Very nice people but when it comes to business or money related issues, do your sue diligence.

Because foreigners in Kenya are targeted by some Kenyans to scam them. When I lived in Kenya, I was told by someone in Nairobi Immigration office that I had to pay to extend my stay in Kenya. When I went to another Immigration office in Kisumu my passport was stamped without paying a cent. Foreigners are targeted in Kenya, by alert. Sad but true
