I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

I have lived as a counterfeit christian for 30 years thinking I was saved by repeating a simple salvation prayer. I have been deceived by the wickedness of my own heart. My lord is now working out my salvation in fear and trembling. He helps me to repent and pray for his grace to listen and obey and keep his commandments. Lord have mercy on me.

But I thought when you say the prayer you pray that God would forgive you for your sins. Thats repenting and you continue the walk of discipleship. Read John 1: 12 to everyone that received him he gave them the POWER to become children of God. Who gives the power - it is God. Further read John 3 on nicodimous. Jesus explains what happens when you are born again. It relates with John 1 a birth that is not by father or mother but a spiritual transformation takes place that you are not in control of. All things change

He’s not preaching truth he’s preaching fear mongering. He’s making God out to be a punishing tyrant and making it seem like we have to constantly work or persevere for our salvation. This is not truth. All The thief on the cross did was say “remember me when u come into ur kingdom” and Jesus accepted that and he was saved. Salvation is a gift and u can’t work for it bc u can’t get it thru ur own power only from power of Christ. We will all be sinners u til day of death. He’s muddying the verses quoting “narrow is the way” and “not everyone who says Lord, lord” he’s implying that those verses are referring to most Christian’s who aren’t “perfect” and making ppl question their salvation and feel hopeless. I can’t with this guy. Most ppl in that building won’t be in hell, that’s jsut wrong. ALL who cry out to him in true repentance will be saved regardless of their life after their salvation

It's the first step to connecting with God (Acts 20:20-21). The result is a life transformation (Romans 6:4-7, Titus 3:3-7). James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls [that's repentance]. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. John 8:34-36 34 Jesus answered them, Most assuredly, I say to you, *whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.* 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore *if the Son makes you free [that's getting saved], you shall be free indeed.* We can have a conversation about that.

He will intend to change religious festivals & laws. Which festivals was Daniel referring too? He never heard of Xmas, valentine's day or Thanksgiving. He knew about feast of booths, feast of weeks & passover. Perhaps those festivals were changed just like he prophecied. Oh-o, the council of nicea happened in 325A.D, is that when they changed? Yep & who was responsible for that? Oh yeah, the Roman catholic church. There they changed the Gods law as well. So does the protestant church follow the changed doctrine? Right after the changes is when we have the early Christians tortured and ripped apart by lions. Why would they follow the things that upset Daniel so much? 2 Cor 6:14-17 ...For what partnership is there between righteousness & lawlessness ..... therefore come out from among them, to be separate, don't touch anything unclean... When you change Gods laws, that's called lawlessness. So you see God is bringing judgement.

The speaker just keeps repeating himself, the whole point of this 17 minutes program could have been summed up in 3 sentences, a genuine Christian he keeps saying, sounds a bit prejudiced that’s for sure, always thought the born again theme was just that, a theme, it doesn’t mean much in reality, you can’t be born again until you die, you can be a the process of becoming born again but becoming one happens after death.

Praise God! I have been a Pastor for 34 years. I have listened to this message 25 times or so and each time it challenges me to go deeper with Christ! Enough of easy believeism. It's not about the work you do. It's the work God does in you. Because if you think of it in terms of you working then you're seeking to establish your own righteousness and you've fallen from grace. Trust that God will do the work. Believe he's doing the work. Justified by faith not by works of the law.

But if you are trust in Christ alone for your righteousness, Brad, by all means allow the Lord to move you in repentance to making changes that reflect that work in your heart. Repentance is a change of mind, something that begins in the heart, that leads to outward change. The change of mind is about our sin, God‘s holiness, and the conviction that we are to live for him rather than ourselves. Luke 24:46-47 “…and (He) said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.’” Luke 24:46-47

I've found several big keys that have opened my eyes to see how to succeed in faith. - true repentance is Turning to God from the world/sin and not from sin to God, if you do it backwards, you're depending on your performance for God's favor instead of God's faithfulness. (It is Finished, we love Him because He first Loved us) - John Piper's sermons are excellent, he has been given the truth of the key that all Christian life hinges on: "God is most glorified in you, when you are most satisfied in Him" This changes everything about killing sin, all you have to see is that God and Christ are to be the core desire of your heart/life, and because God is GOOD. The hardest part is how we approach the commands. We must see that God's commands are good. Don't just look at the commands as things to DO but they are descriptions of the perfect attributes of God himself. And all the commands are the fruit of love, for God is love. (If we love God and our neighbors, we automatically will not steal, lie, lust, covet, etc,) The secret to defeat all sin is to find what you are holding as more important than God.

Paul is great at showing people their sin but also telling them that they can be forgiven of those sins. I know someone who saw him preach and afterwards a young lady came up to him and was balling her eyes out saying she didn’t know if she was saved or not. Paul sat with her for hours and canceled his flight back home just to walk through the gospel with her... very tender man.

I love Paul Washer Sermons. He is very straight with the word of God. He preaches it as it is. He calls sin, sin. He does not care people like him or not, but he cares to please God. When Paul Washer says "We are saved by faith alone through Grace alone in Christ alone." What he doesn't explain is what he really means. What he means is that you are saved by faith forced on you, that you cannot reject it, because God has decided! Not you! That is a big difference. Actually, what Paul Washer teaches is what Jesus, Paul, and Peter (and all the biblical authors) taught. John 6:44-47; John 10:27-29; Romans 9:14-23; Acts 13:48; 1 Peter 2:8. Read this carefully. The reason God must enable us with divine grace to repent and believe us because our hearts are so hard and selfish. @@jancurcio5573 Out of your own mouth you just denied the legitimacy of Paul's own words. He plainly says there are Christians who are carnal and the letter is addressed to Christians in Corinth. You simply cannot engage that scripture, so you attempt to make a narrow appeal because you cannot reconcile Paul's statement with your own theology. As far as Jesus is concered, there are a multitude of statements. John 3:16, 3:18; 5:24, 20:31, etc. Jesus said anyone who believes receives eternal life. If its eternal, by definition, that means it cannot be lost. The context of Matt 7:21-23 is unbelievers who will be judged on the basis of works. They will stand before the Lord and appeal to their works to gain entrance into eternal life and they will be denied. Doing the will of the Father in that context means to believe the gospel. Most people think that since prophesying and casting out devils are mentioned in Matt 7:22 that Jesus has to be talking about Christians. But, unbelievers in Jesus' day were casting out demons in His name (Mark 9:38). The seven sons of Sceva also tried to exorcise demons in Jesus' name yet were not believers. The other error you have fallen prey to in believing there is no such thing as a carnal Christian is that, in doing so, you've just acknowledged there is some standard of obedience required to qualify for heaven yet you've not clearly defined it. Be a shame to discover you imagined one standard of obedience as sufficient for entrance into heaven only to find out you missed a scripture requiring a higher level.

The Bible says we are under Gods wrath. “We were children of wrath just like they were.” But at the same time God does have a love for us. Ezekiel 33 (and a few chapters earlier it says the same thing.) “I live says the LORD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that they would turn from their ways and live.” The “but that they would turn and live.” Means that He has pleasure when we turn and live. Later on God almost pleads with Israel saying “turn away from your sin, for why should you die?” God doesn’t want anyone to be lost. Hell was made for satan and his angels but had to be expanded for us. Luke 4 very lat verse. “son of Adam son of God” God from the beginning wanted us to be His children who He could be with everyday, but love requires a choice and we chose poorly. Adam and Eve could have rejected God and He would have honored their decision because love requires a choice. They didn’t just reject Him though they broke His law. He said the earth is yours and all it’s fullness. “Only, do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the day you do you will surely die.” That was the 1 law, and the same way we can’t stand it when murderers or ray peests get away, God can’t stand when His laws are unpunished. Say I’m raised in a land where it’s good to k1ll people. Raised my whole life it’s good and it’s the right thing to do. The second I go to a land where it’s not okay and I k1ll someone there, doesn’t matter to them that I didn’t know it wasn’t okay, didn’t matter I was raised my whole life it’s good to do it, I’m going to be held accountable to their laws. It’s the same way with God. God has laws, whether we know them or not we will be held accountable to them, and the earth is all His and all it’s fullness. This is His land. We are raised sin is good and okay and certain ones aren’t, doesn’t matter to Him that we are, we are held accountable to His laws. In the U.S there’s a Latin saying in our courts, can’t remember what it is but I remember the English translation of it. It says “ignorance of the law is not an excuse to break the law.” God loves us, all He’s wanted was for us to be His kids. We’ve been warped and degraded because of sin and our inward wickedness where we do stuff that He never even thought of before. In the Old Testament worship of milchom and molech involved child sacrifice. God said “I didn’t command you to do those things, nor did the thought even enter My mind.” We do stuff He never even thought of. In Roman’s “inventors of evil things” is what we are. Jesus said in like 4 “He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, set the captives free and give liberty to all those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the good and acceptable Year of the Lord. Today this is fulfilled in your hearing.” “For it’s not God’s will that any would perish but that all would come to repentance.” God does love us, but God is holy. We are evil and have been throughout all of our existence. Not because we had to be but because we chose to be. God didn’t make us evil, He gave us a choice and we chose poorly. Consider the holiness of God. Satan was the most beautiful creature in all of existence, head over the worship of God. But the second he sinned against God he was gone, no second chances. Jesus said “I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven” that’s how holy God is. And how righteous and jealous He is. You know how many times we have sinned against God and He has not given us the same certain fate but gave us a way out? It’s estimated, from an article I read, that there have been 100,000,000,000 people throughout all of human history. That’s 100 billion life times of sins and rebellions against God. God is good and Merciful. 1 Peter “we thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us AGAIN to a living hope through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead.” And In Ephesians “but God, who is rich in mercy, because of His GREAT love with which He has loved us, Even when we were dead in trespasses and sins, He made us alive together with Him.” 1 John “Behold what manner of love the Father has LAVISHED on us, that we should be called children of God.”

Please, give a clear bible verse to back that up. Such twisting of the gospel, Washer does nothing but cause unnecessary fear with this message. Also he is very arrogant, thinking he for sure is saved based on all the things he lists while thinking most of the audience is not! This was not a biblical message this was demonic and a false gospel, there's only one gospel that saves and we only know we are saved because of Jesus, NOT because of the works we perform. It seems all the twisted work demanding versions of the true gospel are more appealing to most than the true gospel of pure grace. I don't care what anyone else says, I know I'm saved ONLY because of Jesus and that's the only person I also trust. I can't trust myself, my heart, my estimates or my standards. I’ve been sinning since i was a kid. It’s really shameful. And sometimes in my life i get close to God and then i stay in that connection for a month or 2 then again i fall back on the sinful way. And now I’m 28 and this time i can say Jesus is with me and I’ll not fall back. I’m a sinner and he has forgiven me again. But the difference is that he’ll never let me down now. He has given me strength and power to overcome all the desires of the flesh. All praise to God.

@Anon Girl Hi Anon Girl, if you have read the words of Jesus in Matthew 5, 6 and 7 and still cannot see the TRUTH, you may want to read :- John 14:21-24. Hebrews 11:6. James 2:19. Study Hebrews chapters 3 and 4. Grace = God's favor and spiritual blessing. Faith = the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness. Yes we are saved by Grace through Faith in God. But if we have faith, as described above, we will be obeying Jesus Christ's teachings as He said in John 14. The way I know is I was baptized, and the Lord delivered me from 30 yr. Addiction of meth, weed, gambling, cigs , theft, porn, profanity, sexual sin, lying, wrong motives, and scandalous behavior into a new creature. I carry some guilt and shame for who and how I was, but I am made anew thank God. I thought I would be a slave for life. I did not see a way out. Now I am in shock that it has been 6 months, and no relapse once!! HE CHANGED ME, and now I just need a job. My calling awaits, but without transpo I DO NOT KNOW what to do! I am in Phx., it's brutally hot, and I feel stuck, but if He brought me TO THIS, HE WILL SEE ME THROUGH THIS. God bless you all- GOD IS-REAL!
