Shocking Sight in Shanghai! No More Profit in China: Numerous Taiwanese Restaurants Exit

After getting caught in continuous negative publicity, 85°C indeed entered a challenging phase of trying to "stop the bleed." From closing some stores in Shanghai and Xuzhou to exiting from Zibo and Zhengzhou. In 2022, 85°C closed its operations in Changsha and Wuhan, officially announcing its complete withdrawal from the Wuhan market.
The well-known dumpling restaurant Ding Tai Fung, whose second-largest shareholder is the Wu family of Taiwan's Tai Ho Group, hinted in 2021 about selling their shares. Globally, Ding Tai Fung operates over 160 stores with annual revenues nearing $150 million US dollars. However, in 2020, their revenue plummeted by 25%, leading the major shareholders to possibly consider cashing out upon seeing developmental limitations.

I live in Taiwan, and although I want these Taiwanese brands to do well, they are very wise to close their stores before the CCP nationalizes everything. Also, when your stock portfolio is worth pennies, you're home's value is plummeting, you're buried under a massive mortgage, and you're worried about being unemployed, then you're probably not eating out . . . if anything at all. 😅
@paullum389
@paullum389 29 күн бұрын
Sadly the net result of this is a partial exodus to the countryside particularly amongst the unemployed whether they be students or migrant workers. I believe the root cause is the runaway debt fueled speculation in real estate which has stretched everyone's finances to the brink such that any pull back of 20-30% destroys one's life savings accumulated over 2 generations. The obsession and opium-like addiction with real estate needs to end. I've heard that men in their mid 20s to 30s can't even get a date unless their name is on title on some real estate, which is very sad. Another root cause is the capital flight by the wealthy elite in China, instead of reinvestment in China to build a better society on par with HK and Taiwan.

Gez, China can't help but shoot themselves in the foot. Carrefour is an international French-origin chain with branches all over, but oh, some of the products in the China branches were stocked with Taiwan products (because of course they were for quality and packaging language) so they had to be shut down.

*the entire belief of communism under chyna was the rejection of their own culture, the destruction of their own ancient relics and buildings, the erasing of Confucianist ideals and their beliefs of being* "at one with nature and the 4 essences of the earth" They completely changed from being "at one with nature" to the ideas of Mao which said "we can mountains to work for us" They quite literally destroyed all that was the Chinese identity and had been their cultural values for thousands of years. The amount of negativity they brought to their own people is unbearable when you really learn it. All that made Chyna loved and respected was erased by the socialist communists so they coulf discourage gheir oen people from having love in the "old ways" All Marxist playbooks lead to the same outcome; a total destruction of all culture for that given country and a demoralization that is unimaginable to us in the West. Although we are seeing it start over the past years eveb here too. It's not a coincidence.

Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world. Fast food and sugary drinks including fruit juices are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity. Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly. Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer. Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game. A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility. "healthy looking option" . . . Youre in China, youre talking about China made food products. That might look like healthy food but it definitely is not. I know its Taiwanese restauraunt but the food is still produced within the China most likely and not transported from Taiwan.

Processed food manufacturers need to hear from consumers that less ADDED chemicals, sugar, oil and salt is wanted in their food products. Why is there so much ADDED sugar in everything, even bread. That's just crazy Email, text, tweet or phone your favorite producer of poison and let them know consumers want less salt, oils and sugars in their products. Let their customer service department know that all the extra added salt, oil and sugar is not necessary or desired and is causing health issues. Reduce or eliminate highly processed food from your diet if you can.
