And it was a fawn, so no wonder that he had little trouble to do the first thing that crossed his mind rather than being pressured to perform a "proper" kill
@wanimalus Жыл бұрын
While it's true that the lion's prey was a fawn, it's important to remember that animals in the wild often rely on their instincts and survival skills to capture and kill their prey.

I’ve seen videos of predators killing and eating animals they’ve caught in urban environments, and they don’t always wait until the prey is dead. Once you’ve watched a few of those, you become used to it.

These indeed often start eating their prey alive, but do it in such large numbers that the quickly sever some arteries causing the prey to die within a few minutes instead of 20 minutes. Still though.. brrr..
@touremuhammad5983 Жыл бұрын
I don’t get why this episode was called “Bad Natured”. Young cats do this when they learn how to hunt for themselves. The cub’s mother did nothing to let her cub kill his prey on his own. This happens literally all the time with wild cats.

*may refer to the predatory behavior of a tiger cub. While it may startle you to witness the violence of a young animal taking its first bite, it is a natural and necessary part of a tiger's development. Tiger cubs learn to hunt by observing and practicing with their mothers, and eventually become independent hunters as they mature.*

There is no such thing as “very unique”-uniqueness is a singular quality that takes no modifiers.
@andyhaochizhang Жыл бұрын
People often use unique to mean "special/unusual", in which case it definitely takes modifiers. This definition is included in all major dictionaries and in fact Merriam-Webster used that exact phrasing in an example - "a very unique ball-point pen".

❤Nature❤ 😆😭 Many Animals don't or stop caring to kill as soon as they find it's safe to eat. Eating usually starts at the softest Parts, wich is the Underbelly Area. Nature knows no Moral or Merci as we and similar wired Beings do and display normaly. One of hardest to watch, for me, are Komodragons. But seems really often more slow than fast to get eaten.. Keep up the good work.
@izzyc.6559 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with it being natural to them, but you say that we have morals or mercy? We capture animals and keep them confined in a tight space their whole life until its time for slaughter. That is truely no mercy. Animals ways are more natural.

The Tiger (Uncia tigris) is a big cat native only to Asia, it is one of the only two extant species belonging to the genus Uncia, the other being the Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia), the tiger is also known for being the largest cat species in the world alive today, there are twelve recognized subspecies of tiger, only six of which are alive today, the most basal being the †Caspian Tiger (Uncia tigris virgata), then followed by the Bengal Tiger (Uncia tigris tigris), with the most recent split being between two clades, the Uncia tigris altaica group or Northeast Asian tigers with three recognized subspecies being the Siberian Tiger (Uncia tigris altaica), the †Wanhsien Tiger (Uncia tigris acutidens), and the South China Tiger (Uncia tigris amoyensis) and the Uncia tigris sondaica group or Southeast Asian tigers with seven recognized subspecies being the Indochinese Tiger (Uncia tigris corbetti), the Malayan Tiger (Uncia tigris jacksoni), the †Ngandong Tiger (Uncia tigris soloensis), the Sumatran Tiger (Uncia tigris sumatrae), the †Javan Tiger (Uncia tigris sondaica), the †Trinil Tiger (Uncia tigris trinilensis), and the †Bali Tiger (Uncia tigris balica).

Not sure where this information is from or if it's a language/regional thing, but tigers and snow leopards are part of the Panthera genus, with tigers having the name P. tigris and snow leopards being P. uncia. However, they are more closely related to each other than other members of the Panthera genus such as lions and leopards. Uncia is a species name referring to snow leopards, not a genus name.
@indyreno2933 Жыл бұрын
@Corvid, actually, Panthera is an exclusively old world genus with only four recognized species, the genus originated exclusively from Africa and the most basal of the four species is the †African Jaguar (Panthera shawi), then followed by the Leopard (Panthera pardus), with the most recent split being between the †European Jaguar (Panthera gombaszoegensis) and the Lion (Panthera leo), Panthera is the most basal genus of the subtribe Pantherina (Greater Big Cats), the genus Uncia is the second most basal genus and contains four recognized species, the most basal of the four Uncia species is the †Cave Lion (Uncia spelaea), then followed by the Tiger (Uncia tigris), with the most recent split being between the †Tibetan Jaguar (Uncia blytheae) and the Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia), the third most basal recognized genus is the fossil genus †Sinailurus, which has three recognized species, the most basal being the †East Asian Lion (Sinailurus youngi), followed by the split between the †Longdan Tiger (Sinailurus zdanskyi) and the †Chinese Jaguar (Sinailurus palaeosinensis), the two most recently evolved genera are Neofelis and Jaguarius, Neofelis contains two recognized species being the Chinese Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa) and the Sunda Clouded Leopard (Neofelis diardi), while Jaguarius contains three recognized species, the most basal being the †American Lion (Jaguarius atrox), followed by the split between the †Yucatan Leopard (Jaguarius balamoides) and the Jaguar (Jaguarius onca), all roaring cat species found only in the new world actually do constitute a monophyletic group and descended from a new world ancestor, which therefore means the american lion is more closely related to the jaguar than to the lion, as well as the cave lion being more closely related to both the snow leopard and tiger, in addition to the european jaguar being more closely related to the lion than to the jaguar, and the fact that the †Cave Lion (Uncia spelaea), Tiger (Uncia tigris), †Tibetan Jaguar (Uncia blytheae), Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia), †East Asian Lion (Sinailurus youngi), †Longdan Tiger (Sinailurus zdanskyi), †Chinese Jaguar (Sinailurus palaeosinensis), †American Lion (Jaguarius atrox), †Yucatan Leopard (Jaguarius balamoides), and Jaguar (Jaguarius onca) are all more closely related to clouded leopards (genus Neofelis) than any of them are to either the †African Jaguar (Panthera shawi), Leopard (Panthera pardus), †European Jaguar (Panthera gombaszoegensis), or Lion (Panthera leo), with the american lion, yucatan leopard, and jaguar being the closest relatives of the clouded leopards, the east asian lion, longdan tiger, and chinese jaguar all being the second closest to the clouded leopards, and the cave lion, tiger, tibetan jaguar, and snow leopard being the third closest to the clouded leopards, while the african jaguar, leopard, european jaguar, and lion are the most basal and distantly related from all the other groups, this officially redefines these genera based on geography and geography alone.

Hyenas don't require death before consuming either. I can only hope for many prey, it's more fear we hear in their distress sounds, like in humans who don't always feel the serious pain at the moment it occurs but instead later once our wits are gathered after an incident. I know they all feel pain. But I can hope it's more like us.

It's happening in every moment. Feral dogs make almost all their kills in that way. They are horrible animals. They chew the genitals off first as they did with my parents two dogs which were killed less than one hundred metres from the house. Tigers belong there. It's their home. He will learn the tiger way eventually.
