SHOCKINGLY Wierd Dark Ride | Geisterschloss (Haunted Castle) | Europa-Park

Geisterschloss is a ghost train-themed ride located at Europa-Park in Rust, which debuted in 1982. Created by Mack Rides, this attraction features an Omnimover ride system comprising 70 gondolas accommodating three people each. The ride spans a 192-meter-long track and completes its journey in four minutes. The gondolas are designed to rotate, allowing riders to be positioned to view the various scenes along the way.
Fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the neglect of Ghost Castle's storyline continuity in recent years. The cohesive narrative thread has become barely recognizable, with the attraction being embellished with various elements that often do not align with its Renaissance theme. The incorporation of animatronics and projections from attractions like "Happy Family" and the in-house musical "Spook Me" has also faced significant criticism from many fans. However, the park has acknowledged these issues and plans to reintroduce a coherent storyline to the haunted castle over the next few years.
