Just so people know, you must torque the nut, not the bolt head. If you have to torque the bolt head due to lack of space, add 10% to the torque value. Great video though, thank you for making it and including the alignment segment. I'll be buying this.

Does the rear end need to be aligned? After replacing the radius rod plate?

my bsd kit came with two extra spaces and shorter main spacers is that normal cause the one in the video is different?
@ShockTherapyllc3 жыл бұрын
You have our new upgraded version. You can put those spacers all on top to create the kit in the video or use them one at a time to tune your geometry perfectly. New video soon.

@@ShockTherapyllc ok that's good to know I thought I had the wrong set up..also my tie rod ends were super stiff, I had to put a lot of force to get them to move back and forth is that normal?
@ShockTherapyllc3 жыл бұрын
@@robertmontoya4941 yes. There are three grades of rod end stiffness. We go with the stiffest because the second you drive them that rod end loosens up. If you start with soft fitment then they have play right away. Stiff fitment and they have no play. It’s a race trick that even all the trophy truck guys do. 👍

If anyone is having trouble loosening the lock nut towards the rack then disconnect the shock and sway bar. Swing the rest of the front assembly up so the arms are straight out. Have someone hold them there while you use a wrench going through the bottom of the lower a arm to loosen the nut. Ironic thats the only part they don’t show you and was by far the biggest pain in the ass. P.S. I’m not sure if the access is easier without skids. I have a RC so the only way it was gonna grab that bolt was with the arms straight out and using the tiny bit of room I get with them.

So how does this kit eliminate bump steer
@ShockTherapyllc4 жыл бұрын
Jade bylund moving the height of the outer joint changes the geometry of the tie rod arc which affects the toe measurement through travel.

Are the tie rods typically a weak point?
7 жыл бұрын
manny ahles the stock X3 tie rods are strong but the geometry has a ton of bumpsteer! Especially at high speeds. I am extremely excited to try these and make the X3 even more predictable and have even more confidence while driving. Also if you run a larger tire and wheel combo then I recommend beefing everything up from the clutching to all the suspension components. Save ya some headaches trust me.

I am doing my research. I just brought home a 4 seater XRs with 1.4 miles on it. I want to do all the necessary and or precautionary work before I go hammer on it at the dunes!

manny ahles awesome idea man! Also, congrats on the new unit! I've modded my car a lot and by far the most noticeable parts on it are all my Shock Therapy parts. And if I were you. I would get a front gusset kit, shock therapy full RIS, lower A arms, tie rods, radius rods, mud flaps, and rear spindle fix from No Limits. You would be ready to ripppppp with that!!!
