To Aubrey, the same thing happens to me with earrings. Couple tips, make sure you are using either real titanium, silver or gold. Also before you put them in your ear, make sure you dip the end in neosporan. Also if you get “knots” in your earlobes, a drawing salve works wonders. Clean the ear nightly (like you had to when you first got your ears pierced) if you are wearing earrings. And finally, try not to fiddle with them while they are in. All these methods have really helped me not breakout so much

When it comes to jewellery for me I have found I can only wear 9 carot gold. I have tried sterling silver ear rings and they go black within a couple of weeks.

Also remember to use saline to clean your ear piercings! I have 6 piercings if you count lobes individually and it has helped so much! I recently got a tragus piercing which is notorious for not healing easily and it has practically healed in not even a month! This is all due to cleaning with saline instead of something else.

Yes! This. Look for sensitive ears earrings or hypoallergenic earrings or just make sure they’re real silver. This in general will make a huge difference. Cleaning your ears constantly will help as well. I usually put a little hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball or cue tip and rub it on my earlobe/piercing spot.

Aubrey I used to have the same problem with earrings making my ears sore. A little hint that will help tremendously...Dip your earring post n neosporin ointment before putting them in. Your ears will never get infected again..Good luck!💖

Wow, I had never heard about the neosporin trick! I will have to try it. I have always had the same problem and found that the only earrings my ears will tolerate are gold and surgical steel. Another trick I’ve heard about is to coat the post on the earring with nail polish. It didn’t work for me but might for someone else 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yes the elastic laces work well. I used those after stepping on my shoelace and falling up cement stairs. I would definitely recommend to grab a backup pair of the elastic laces

Yes to the elastic laces. My son has fine motor difficulties and we have use the elastic laces for years. They are fantastic, cheap and really work. Plus give you a lot more choice beyond velcro only 👍😀

I'm allergic to all my earrings . They told me to get 14 k or above to keep in or starter ear rings since I brake out and get sore and itchy. Tripple antibiotics on the posts help as you put them in and take out in two hours. I have to clean my 6 holes often. 3 in each ear.

For any of the girls that have there ears peirced and get infected easily I highly recommend sensitive solution Earrings. My ears get irrated/infected easy as well I try and buy sensitive solution earings or really good quality earings.

Hey Aubrey! I have the exact same problem you do with earrings. I’ve found that putting clear nail polish on the part that goes through your ear works wonders! I haven’t had much of an issue until I need to reapply it after some months since I have them in constantly. Hope this helps!

Hint for the gal whose ears gets easily infected. Clean ears with alcohol, dip earrings in triple antibiotic ointment before wearing. Take out at night clean ear again and earrings. Also avoiding certain metals may help. Or wearing only gold or pure silver or Nichol free or hypoallergenic earrings.

Aubrey, I have had the same problem with my pierced ears all my life! I am 53 now and probably have had them re-pierced 15 times if not more because they would get infected. Doctors visit twice as they were so bad! Turns out according to my doctor that I have a lot of Nickle and or Iron in my blood and causes the reaction. To the point I can not wear necklaces or watch band with a metal buckle. I get rashes after a couple hours. What I finally did learn is that I can wear surgical steel, stainless steel or hypoallergenic earrings with zero issues. I have never gone without for any reason after figuring that out. I have had my current hoops in for 2 months now! Doesn't cost anymore that the cheap cute ones but you just don't get as many in a package. MANY styles to choose from on Amazon for one stop shopping. If you like the gold color you can still get them, just read carefully and make sure the posts or wires are one of the three I mentioned. I am a silver fan so haven't looked.

@@divahc1 as an adult yes I have the shoes I ant now thank you. I have had to purchase them though. My favourite brand is sketchers. But I love shoes that are comfortable & have memory foam in them. I do go for comfort first but if I don’t like what something looks like I won’t get it (same with clothing). I also used to get boring stationary & other boring/plain school stuff (bag, water bottle, lunch box) when I was at school but now I own nice things- but again I have had to buy them. Hopefully if I have kids in the future will be them a few fun things for school. I’ll definitely let them pick their own backpack, lunch box & water bottle unlike my parents who picked mine which was usually the cheapest they could find.

Aubrey, To help avoid ear infections, wipe both your ear and the earring with a metho wipe before putting your earrings in. Be careful not to touch the hook or post of the earring once it's been wiped. Don't touch your ear or the earring once it's in. You may be doing it subconsciously, so enlist some friends to nicely tell you if they notice you doing it. Keep a bottle of earring antiseptic with you and if you feel your ear is getting sore, spray it immediately. If none of these work, you may have an allergy to the metals, in which case sterling silver and/or 9ct gold will be your best choices.

Aubrey your ears aren't getting infected, they're just rejecting the cheap earrings. Just buy a sterling silver or gold pair, spend a bit more now and save more, and all the earache, in the long run.
