Social skills can be naturally learned by socialization. It’s just that most people avoid others more and more. For all our intelligence we’re still animals. If a Dog has very few interactions with other dogs then they become a lot more nervous and aggressive when they see their own kind and people are no better. There should be socialization classes for people who lived in self isolation for too long that they don’t know how to deal with other people.

People used to think mental health is a scam. And now that they know it's real, people are being scammed for it.
@gamingwhilebroken23558 ай бұрын
As someone who has a mental health disorder (like one of the legit ones that gets you involuntarily admitted) people are being scammed but in both directions. People are being told they traumatized when they absolutely are not and then people with serious mental health illnesses experiences are being erased. As an example I have heard so many people say something like, “I have a mental illness and it doesn’t make me do X.” Like good for you, that’s great, and then to find out they have depression or anxiety (the common flu of psychiatric illnesses). Or worse they say, “no mental illness is worse than another,” like either you are catastrophizing your condition or minimizing mine (and probably the former). Plus, people are legit normalizing mental illness to the point that people are, unironically, saying that most people are mentally ill… like it’s a good or normal thing to be experiencing mental illness. No, it’s not, you do not want to be mentally ill.

Nux just brazenly mythologizes "the past" as everything being sexist and reductivist and people going "just drink a few beers and get back on the ranch!". And then he mythologizes HIS OWN past and says "I now realize I 'was' unhappy". No, your FEELING just was what it was back then. And NOW you can't remember how well you ADJUST, just like people who are depressed can't imagine a FUTURE where they may adjust. THAT IS happiness, because you're WELL-ADJUSTED. These "but NOW I'm really happy" is ACTUALLY an ongoing self-gaslighting behavior, "THIS is the only ACTUAL happiness". NOW is the point where you are delusional, NOT when you reflect. It's just anxiety over Doing The Hard Thing and when you're ACTUALLY NOT you convince yourself you ARE, and reaping the rewards with REAL happiness. However way you live you amplify all your hardships, but DOUBLE amplify what you DON'T suffer, because actually doing it would prove you got through it pretty easily. Increase your strength to actually just do the unimaginable. And it's obvious from the way all these "ancient times were awful" narratives are CLEARLY just narratives WHEN you live through them, but after a while the resistance gets weary and only the lie remains. That's what Gaza war is banking on.

Ancient times didn't have a big problem with partners because the primary method of acquiring them was by buying her off her father, kidnapping her, or flat out raiding and graping villages until they found a cute girl and stuck her in the back of a wagon. At the same time, EVERY civilization declared those who came before them were uncivilized. Many used this to justify their rule/civilizations. Ur Nammu seized power from dozens of nations by codifying law and using that as political and social leverage to rally armies. He declared his to be the most morally justified and condemned the behavior of the scattered ancient nations to rally people who suffered at the hand of other super powers. All of history is full of people doing it. It's not new, it's one of the oldest points of human society.

Casual sex absolutely makes the lack of a relationship feel so much worse. It dangles a glimpse of intimacy in front of your face but doesn't let you actually have it. If you have the right relationship to do it, casual sex is healthier as a supplement to and not a replacement for a committed relationship. However, most of the time it's best to just not go for it at all. The average relationship isn't going to have two people who can mentally and emotionally cope with their partner having sex elsewhere.

Hahaha My partner actually went into my Twitch stream chat to troll me because he found my positivity annoying (he had originally assumed it was fake) but ended up becoming a fan of my calligraphy. Then we started to talk on discord and he learned that I'm authentic when he got to listen to me rant and snarl about having to sleep on the couch for a week when the water heater broke. Became best friends that talk daily for a year, and fell in love. Key point of advice: work on being the best version of you that you are working towards. You'll attract more options.

To be fair if women weren't so hellbent on being in a position of power that allows them to punish you for not being a mind reader or having the ability to travel through time to trial and error your "mistakes" they might be able to get a decent guy who us also very likely lonely because he isn't a psychic time traveler 🤷♂️

I think it depends on what we're talking about when we talk about standards. Shared values, communication, cleans themself and their space? Those are real. Only dating people who are red heads, or who have blue eyes, or who are over or under a certain height--consciously--is silly. You end up with the Shallow Hal complex, lol.
