Love my RF-SR....best helmet I’ve risen on my FXDB....notice it does fog a bit on colder mornings up here in New England but overall I’d say 4.75/5 stars ⭐️

Nice vid Mr Block. For eye glass and sun glass wearers, I found the Shoei RF SR allows best fit of my glasses, both the Shoei RF 1200 and GT Air II had less room for eyeglasses.
@ericleeSupSayK5 жыл бұрын
Yo I feel the exact same way bro. Like it wasn’t so much about the price and tbh I would of gotten the RF 1200 but even with a low profile eyeglasses it just wouldn’t fit.

Nice vid. Some more advice on fit for those considering it. You want to buy a helmet new that fits very snug. Chipmunk cheek it. A good rule is that you should not be able to chew gum in your lid, especially new. The foam will form to your head and fit much better over a few weeks. I’ve had this helmet for a year (3000ish miles) and it’s great. So comfortable. You can’t beat Shoei and IMO this is the best lid under $400.

I have a RF 1200 and a RF-SR too, I had to get thicker inserts for the top of the head cuz they felt a bit loose. I also got a transitional shield and I just looove it, i got a killer deal at my local HD dealer and i only paid about $350 for the RF 1200 and $300 for the RF-SR which it was great cuz they are NOT cheap. Good video brah👍🏼

I currently wear an Arai Signet-Q, but am soon buying either the RF-1200 or RF-SR. With either I will also be getting the Transitions shield. Shoei quality is top notch. I absolutely love their approach to helmet making, use of materials, ergonomics, and fit/finish. I’ve tried many other helmets, less expensive and far more expensive and nothing feels like a Shoei.

Actually the sena speakers fit in perfectly....only fit in one position which is great...place inside with wire facing straight up, the slowly twist it backwards. Wire should be pointing halfway between vertical & horizontal(diagonally towards rear). Fits PERFECTLY without forcing it. Took me about 30min to figure it out

I know you did this vid a while back, but just got this exact helmet in flat b;ack and hooked up my Sena 10c evo. What I wanted to ask was, we’re you able to find a thicker padding. Mine fits good and I’m a large but I feel like it could be a little more snug. Just a hair. It’s pretty quiet but I can still hear the wind although not whistling in the helmet like my Icon airflight. I figigured if it was just a little more snug it would cut more won’t no have to say thought it is a really comfy helmet. Feels just like you described.

Hmm I was really wanting to get the shoei rf1200 now you got me thinking about getting this instead. I like how shoei has the transitions visors cause I hate riding around with a clear cause I always have my dark visor on. Right now I have a AGV k3 , my bike is a 2017 Ducati cafe racer, until the 2019 Indian ftr1200 comes out that I have a deposit on. I like that Merlin riding shirt by the way, was thinking of picking that up . Right now I have the Merlin hoody , great airflow when riding but sucks when your at a light. Long Island is to humid in the summer.

Blockhead I know it’s an older video and maybe you or someone else will see this, but I absolutely HATE my RFSR!! The guy at cycle gear told me I was crazy, but when I wear mine on the highway it bobs my head like crazy!!! Never had any issues with my LS2 Valiant at speeds, but this Shoei RFSR to me seems too lightweight. Is that possible? Just sucks that I still wanna use my old helmet vs my new as it is very comfortable and quiet but the wind catching my head is a killer! Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated.

Hi Blockhead Would you mind to share what mic are you using on this set up. I just started my channel and considering this exact helmet to use so your video was super helpful.
@paden5016 жыл бұрын
Hey Blockhead, just wanted to give you a heads up on that chin vent. You should go ahead and give it a try using the vent open with the microphone. The chin vent on the RF-SR doesn't actually push air directly into the mouth area of the helmet, but rather it flows the air in and directs it up toward the pin lock. Because of that, having it open actually doesn't put much wind noise on your microphone (assuming that you're mounting it in front of your mouth) at least in my experience.

OK, just got back into riding and having serious issues with finding gear that fits. I supposedly have an oval head, and I totally refuse to believe that mine is the biggest head in motorcycling, but not even a 5XL full face helmet fits me without taking out all but the top skull padding. The mouth piece is like millimeters away from my mouth to the point that it is suffocating. A 3XL open face helmet requires that all the padding be removed to fit, leaving me with half-helmets, which are not the safest of headwear. Everything that I should be able to fit me, comes up anywhere between 1 to 3 sizes to small. What's a frustrated rider to do?
@ParrotHead18095 жыл бұрын
Great Vid as always, BH. You are always one of my goto references for just about anything "moto"! Anyone mount a Cardo PackTalk Slim on a Shoe RF-SR? It's listed as "compatible". Any Gotcha's? I have to compare against the RF-1200, but I'll be in an up-right (read: HD/Softail) position, hence the SR is on the short list.

How do you connect the Sena with your GoPro? Or is the speaker just so loud your mic can record this too?
@redrider01516 жыл бұрын
Guys are installing 2 microphones...they run one to their ear hole so that it picks up anything coming out the speaker and the other to the front of the helmet...as of now thats the only way to do it until they allow bluetooth sync between the 2 devices....yeah, you would think with the state of GoPro (being a publicly traded company) they would realize a sales opportunity for a relatively easy to add feature....they better hope that no other company does it or they will no longer be the standard....
@seantaylor12276 жыл бұрын
There is a device called the backpack that Sena makes, it connects to your GoPro and inputs the audio from the Sena into the GoPro. At least that is how it works from my understanding of it.
@redrider01516 жыл бұрын
Thats only for a Hero4...they dont have that for the new GoPro's...(5 or 6 dont allow for that because it was switched to a USB-C connector...thats why the mic converter turned into that huge black box)
