Resale market don't work like that especially for people that are into sneakers. He paid 1700 because the people he bought it off didn't have knowledge of what they were holding. They set the price at that. If they had known what they had, they would've sold it for 50k.

In other words, intentionally scammed? He compared the price to a PRE model and then comes back around and says 100K. That's scamming. It's all a moot point since no one would dish out 100K for them, not even the owner. Thus, they aren't worth said amount. The CURRENT value is $1700 and not a dime more until they are sold again. The sneaker aftermarket absolutely works in this fashion. The reason why high priced shoes sit in stores and online is because no one is willing to pay the outrageous prices. Buyers dictate the value of an item. It's always been this way, always will be.

If we're speaking in hypothetical, do you think he has the fortitude to list these for .99 (or even $1700) and see what the buying public is willing to spend? I'm sure a guy who's selling an SB collection for $85,000 would never embellish on his pricing of a grimy single shoe....that no one at Nike wanted. Let's not forget, he knew who to reach out to and was still ignored.
