Few of those moves was really incredible and unexpected. Thank you Hidetchi for one more video

Ou/Gyoku doesn't have anything to do with black/white. It's just the champion used the ou and the challenger uses gyoku.

I wonder if in response to brinkmate from the B-3c+, miura could have prevented it with a properly placed rook in the 2nd file? too many variations and questions in this game to really know, but I was wondering if it was more of a threatmate than a brinkmate and could be resolved and then a mate could be found. Though time running short probably added to the pressure.

18:57 I think it's a mate here. Gold drop to 2d, king runs to 1b, and then promoted pawn to 2b...game over

At 9:22 how about bishop to 6d. It defends the 7c square and attacks the silver and indirectly the rook.

Bishop drop 73 then Pawn push 55. It blocks the bishop and threatens to drop a pawn on 54 if Miura takes it. Also after taking the knight, assuming bishop recaptures, there's the Knight drop on 65 square forking both bishops.

why?

@@herman1francis go allows you to take more pieces at once which is more satisfying. It's also slightly more challenging than shogi so it feels more rewarding when you win. Even more so than chess
