Sooooo glad that these boys got heavy again! Very reminiscent of "Creatures of the Mud" from their first album. Did they bring back the old singer? Sounds like him. That was freaking amazing. Loved the cameos.

Ethereal wasn't quite as heavy as the newest album (tbf Duat is the heaviest they've ever been, to my ears at least), but the wording makes it out like they went soft. Does it have anything to do with the increased use of clean vocals on that album? Usually I'm indifferent to cleans, but the cleans on that album are great, so I really enjoyed it. Must be in the minority.

Shokran has some of the worst clean vocals I've ever heard. They ruin the feel and flow of every song.

Dude? Do you listen to music? The "clean" vocals also were done by a guest. A kiril. Based in russia. Also, not sure if you know who shokran is but their clean vocals are heavenly. Fits the genre perfectly. Its a bit weird when a heavy song us completely broken up by angelic clean vocals.

Can't disagree harder. Shokran's cleans are some of my favorite in modern metal, and I think they fit the feel of the music and their persistent theme of Egyptian mythology super well.
