I only had caucasian ones until my late cousin/godmother gave me an African-American Barbie and Ken, but I gave away or sacrificed my Barbies, Skippers, Stacies, Todds, and Kens about 10 years ago, I don't need them anymore.

I'll never forget when I was younger (I'm 51 now), playing with all white barbies. My mom bought a black barbie to add to my collection when they came out . My cousin was over playing one day and I gave her the black barbie to play with. She cried and cried and cried (threw a whole tantrum on the floor) because she didn't want any parts of the black barbie but wanted to play with the white barbie even though the black ones looked liked us.

I started off with a Cher doll and then my mom got me a Superstar Christie makeup head. She was black, but had a blonde streak in her hair- which weirded me out a bit. 🤣

Wasn't PJ supposed to be Barbie's Hispanic friend? She had Latinia features. I played with her in the 80s. Mattel made a Hispanic version of President Barbie in the 1990s.

First line of the trailer and already are we using exaggerated language and claims in the name of victimhood vs just using reality that you wanted more representation vs you NEVER saw any? Black barbies were not the first depiction of black girls in dolls or products or popular media though? Is this another "Im the first female superhero or first female in the franchise" claim?
