Doki's fanbase won because of how quickly they found her again and pumped up the subs numbers. Her case was a very dramatic one and massively amplified, it's a legit turn around story. Still, I was rooting for the Swarm

While most of her bffs were nominated for something due to being big very popular vtubers, they didn't actually win much this year. And this was all decided by vote, both the nominees and the final winners, not by Fillian. But if you just mean the show itself, then yeah, I agree. But it makes sense that if you're making a show like this you'll call all your friends and have them help. They should have tried to get more people from outside that sphere involved though for variety for the viewers as well as exposure for others. And it's strange that they contacted Shondo but then didn't include her in anything, maybe it was just an oversight or something, why contact her at all if they never intended to have her in something.

Small agencies are closing because they're either incompetent or vastly overestimated how much money is in the personality-based business of v-streaming. There's too many options and not enough whales to go around.

Vedal was smart and got a custom model for neuro so that he could own it instead of using the old default one. A big problem I have with the Vtuber Awards in particular is that the Holo girls don’t even really get a choice of whether or not they are included. If I remember right, whether a Vtuber even gets in as a choice for the separate awards is entirely on the fans. The Hololive talents who are included don’t seem to find out about it until after the official announcement, or sometimes not even until they’ve been declared the winner of an award. It’s even weirder too that, because they don’t know they’re involved or because they weren’t given permission by management to show up, there ends up being no award speech like the rest of the Vtubers. There’s so much wrong the Vtuber Awards that it’s hilarious. I voted when it happened the first time because I thought it would be fun little thing that happens once, but now it’s basically just the game awards but for vtubing, on a platform separate from where vtubing first got worldwide popularity. The gaul of twitch to include Holo members in that tweet, when neither have streamed on their platform is insane and really shows the level of care they have for vtubers. In fact, I’m willing to bet that several people working for twitch have genuine contempt for vtubers and were only using the vtuber awards as a way to try to gain trust with vtubers again.

If it's the first point, afaik that's just straight-up incorrect. If it's the second, that's not exactly something within anyone's larger control either. I'd argue most VTubers (and by extension a good chunk of VTuber watchers) use primarily twitch, so it'd make sense that most of the focus would be on streamers on twitch. (This also includes a lot of people who do twitch streams alongside KZbin videos.) Also this idea was popularized among English-speaking audiences, and again arguably most of them watch their streamers on twitch more than KZbin because of the aforementioned majority of streamers (and by extension VTubers) being on twitch. This part alone also feels kind of bass-ackwards to say since it kinda sounds like you're downplaying both 1. the substantial growth that VTubers have had that it CAN be as popular on a different platform if not way more, and 2. that same substantial growth being largely attributed to hololive and their goated picks for what would essentially be the founding fathers(?) for the Western VTubing scene.
