Daydream Believer Shonen Knife Album: Happy Hour Oh I could hide beneath the wings Of the bluebird as he sings The six o'clock alarm would never ring But it rings and I rise Wipe the sleep out of my eyes My shaving razor's cold and it stings Cheer up, sleepy Jean, (G and) oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a HOME coming Queen? You once thought of me As a white knight on a steed Now you know how happy I can be Oh, and our good time starts and ends With a dollar one to spend But how much baby do we really need? Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Oh I could hide beneath the wings Of the bluebird as he sings The six o'clock alarm would never ring But it rings and I rise Wipe the sleep out of my eyes My shaving razor's cold and it stings Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Written by: John Coburn Stewart, Naoko Yamano Copyright (c) - Universal Victor, Inc. Naoko did NOT write Daydream Believer, it was written by John Stewart, for the Monkees TV show

@@tropicwave1 Yes, a cover... personally, I've never much cared for the song, no matter who did it... but, if I have to pick, I prefer the Knife version over the others

Darned Covid robbed us of a 40th anniversary tour in 2021... Michie's last album and she saved some of her best songs for last!

It also robbed us of a president. But I think Shonen Knife is more important. Agree about Michie.

An excellent version of the John Steward classic composition. I wonder if he ever heard it...

I had _such_ a crush on Davy Jones back in the day, and I love this. :-) Given Naoko Yamano's age, I wonder if she did, too?
