for the question about what i would do in a situation like this, i would probably try to save my parents, my siblings if they’re with me, my friends if they’re with me, and i would try to save others near me. but again, if the shooter was nearby i would save myself and my older brother liam. i don’t know how insane someone could be to do this.

He is desperate to be saved. But him saying please just really makes me think more about it. Like we know that his Papa would save him, but the fact he was unable to, how dire this situation really is, how terrified he must've been- I hear the please as beyond begging. I call my father figure Papa, and my youngest brother seems just like the kid. They way he moves, talks, etc. Absolutely shattering. Made me sob.

So, about the amnesia thing. There's this thing called disassociative amnesia, which is when a person goes through a traumatizing event, and get amnesia because of it.usually it's like regular amnesia, but I'm not sure if he could've just had that just with the shooting. (Anyone correct me if I'm wrong !!!)

As someone with horrible dissociative amnesia and studying psychology, yes it is possible. However, depression can cause poor memory and the horrid substance abuse can also cause poor memory. So while we shouldn’t jump directly to dissociative amnesia, it is a possibility to consider. However, people who have dissociative amnesia still have to take blame for their actions. So him trying to make it less serious and not take full blame is very bad on his part, dissociative amnesia or not. Hope this could help

I grabbed the nearest persons arm and dragged them into the bathroom. Told all the girls in there what was happening. We locked the door on the guys side and straight up ditched. My school refused to excuse our absences for skipping/ leaving. Not just us, everyone who left for the day.

I sadly cannot watch this to the end. the kid in the beginning looks just like my younger brother and calls my step dad (his bio dad) papa. I broke down in tears when I saw that. I’ve always been horrified of shootings, not for my safety, for my siblings. I have 6 siblings, one isn’t in school, and I’m the only one in middle school. I’m the oldest. When my little brother was still in school, i was always terrified of these things because of the many threats that we have recieved through the years. I kept my rifle safe, loaded, and ready at all times. I don't care what happens to me, but I know I'm either saving lives or losing mine. The hardest part is knowing it isn't appropriate to have a few trained individuals on campus to keep a piece on them in case of events like these. So many things can either go right or wrong. It is infuriating and frustrating.
