Its a bit more socially complicated than that lol. He was most likely incredibly pressured to be a success and after being a failure, he realized he would not live up to their expectations and killed them to preserve that image of him in their heads. People don't just 'kill to play a game' fast true crime has really clouded the societal reasons that people do insane things. This doesnt happen in a vacuum. It isn't a good reason and is abhorrent but if we don't understand the actual reasons things like this happen we are doomed to let them happen on repeat.
