Everyone is blaming the birth mom of Katie for letting this happen but I don’t think that’s the case. The adoptive parents let and supported Katie getting married to HER OWN BIRTH FATHER. Her birth mother but her up for adoption to get Katie away from abuse, when the birth mother found out from the other kids about the grooming of the oldest child she believed them instead of blatantly ignoring them and letting it happen. She divorced the bastard to protect her younger kids but couldn’t do anything because Katie was 18 years old. she legally can’t stop her from going near the shit head of a father. The most she could legally do was call the adoptive parents to warn them (because her giving up custody of her child through adoption means she can’t stop Katie from doing anything) and call the police about the illegal incest . Sadly she’s better than my mom and my friend’s moms. Also blame the culprit not the victims mother who tried everything she legally could. There is also stuff we don’t know we do know the father of shit was abusive to his kids he was most likely abusive to his wife-wives (🤮) he groomed his first wife he mostly likely did the same to Katie. This all could mean they were scared to leave him or scared to step out of line as the saying goes.

Exactly, it's well said. A lot of people usually forget that incestuous relationships can sometimes stem from abuse or power imbalance. This is definitely the case because Katie is the DAUGHTER of that sick man. There's a power imbalance, and even incestuous feelings stem from abuse, mainly because of Stockholm syndrome. The father of Katie knew it was wrong, yet still married her. The adoptive parents knew it was wrong, yet let it happen. The fact that Katie died afterward because of that man is horrible.
