Sent me down a rabbit hole looking up "Dutch angle" on Wikipedia. I had vaguely remembered that it was an ancient cinema technique for showing distress. I didn't realise Dutch was originally a synonym for German, and it was named after German expressionist cinema.

This video has as much to do with cameras as watching a Rock Star performing has to do with the mike he is using. We are privileged to observe a "visual artist" creating in front of our eyes art, by capturing images his eyes see in a fraction of a second and turning it into a memory for eternity. His eyes - the eye of a visual artist and his brain use light like a bush and by moving highlight the beauty of lines and forms, and by changing the angle by which they focus on an item amplify the ultimate beauty of an object. It does not matter which camera or lens he used - what matters is his eye and talent to see what other people are unable to see. Congratulation and thank you!

So many nice pics, what do photographers tend to do with such pics.?

Thanks for your kind words! I think these days they tend to be shared on social media. What could you see sound with them? I'm curious. 🙏🏻🎉

I really liked this video. It demonstrates the change in perspective and the interesting images that can be created. If they don’t work out, you just delete the electrons. Several years ago, my wife and I visited Ireland with my in-laws and while we were on a tour boat, my father-in-law was teasing me while he sat in the row of seats behind me. Being a smart as myself, I took my camera, reached around behind my head and fired. It was one of the best pictures of the old man that I had taken. My advice would be the same as yours: try it! Thank you!

An 18- 120 mm is more helpful for me in this kind of thing. As it gives a wider view in closeup shots at 18mm ( i am a beginner so vignetting at 18mm and more loss of details in corners due to lens is not a concern for me.)

Seriously you need a smaller more discreet camera- try a Ricoh or FujiX100v

It has less to do with the camera and more to do with one's attitude and disposition in my humble opinion. 👍

@@ViewfinderMastery sometimes being almost invisible just allows you to get so much closer and braver. When I started street photography I used a big DSLR and all eyes were on me. I understand your point.

@@babettesfeast6347 those are both great cameras, for sure. I've owned plenty of compact cameras before, and I'm a big fan of the Ricoh GR, but I think the most important thing is getting out there and learning how to engage with people and how to be unobstrusive - regardless of the camera type.

@@ViewfinderMastery shooting outside of the big main cities like London, Paris and New York is extremely difficult. I try to remain confident and upbeat but I do get challenged often because cameras are unusual.

I have to say, you look well creepy walking around like that, and it's far better just to chat with people and be open with them about what you are doing.

🙄 dude. I talk with literally everyone around me and I dish out smiles and all kinds of non-verbal communication when conversation would spoil things. give me a break, please.
