Go slow and shoot. This is far better than rushing your shots. Aim, stop, then shoot is the golden rule of thing to consider in gunfights. In this video I go over first bullet accuracy as this is the most important thing to master when engaging in gunfights if you want to rank up into the red rank. This is definitely one of my problems, in deathmatch I can be calmer and line up my crosshair for the shots but when I'm in a comp game I end up rushing my shots and crouch spraying more than I need to.

This is exactly what I needed. I've only recently came back playing, was confident I could reach Immortal back in 2021 when rr didn't exist and u could rank up 3x in 3 games (peaked D2 in only 15 wins and started from Plat 2). I aimed just like this Asc player and it felt "right" coz back then, i was winning more than 50% of duels coz no one was really that good at the game unless they were high immortal to radiant. Now I feel like I'm losing more than 50% of duels in high Dia to Asc lobbies. Really spirit crushing tbh but hey at least I got more room to grow. (Sorry for the long ass story btw.)

In a situation like that, their gun is fully inaccurate. I usually just move left or right out of their cone of bullets if they do that. Kinda the same thing with people insta-crouch spraying, just strafing left/right and typically you'll kill them before they can kill you.

Trying to be calm while focusing on aiming and shooting is rare for me. It's like I'm activating ultra instinct on my head and for some reason I can focus more than ever but it's limited for some time too (2 to 4 rounds). After that, I'll be back with the default setting again (rushing, bad aim, and spraying)

You might be referring to whats called ‘flow’ or ‘being in the zone’ It’s the state of mind where performance seems almost effortless and you seem to react instinctively. You kinda tunnel vision and are in a deep state of focus where everything else seems to fade away. Just you and the game basically. It’s often associated with athletes but you can use it for gaming as well. Entering flow state consciously isn’t easy tho.

This is my biggest problem right now. It wasn't like that before, just took a big break from the game and came back to notice myself doing just this. I heavily rely on my reaction time which is super fast, around 150-160ms on benchmark, and I just can't develop the discipline to not shoot as fast as I possibly can. Yea in higher ranks that reaction time is slow so you got to improve on more things than aim. I have a 100ms reaction time and even I get out reaction timed by some real demons at the game. Always got to focus on the bigger picture as well where you can have the advantage with info or flashes.

This helps me a lot even as a player below ascendant because I feel like I often times get nervous and try to shoot faster over slowing down and stopping, I get so focused on counter strafing that I probably give the enemy an advantage. I need to trust my gut more when I see an enemy especially when my crosshair is lined up, over shifting my aim expecting them to move.

Your gun will be 100% accurate once the animation resets back into place after you stop. So when you see someone stop immediately, wait for the gun to reset, than shoot. Also when clearing a room it’s better to just tap A or D instead of holding it.

It's way better when you say that someone should aim first and shoot second or "take your time before shooting your first bullet", because the first bullett accuracy is literally the thing which makes you miss some shots on most guns. He is firing his first bullet before confirming that his crosshair is actually on the enemies head. in valorant bullets travel very quickly. you dont need to anticipate the omens movement, just put your crosshair on his head and shoot.

Not everyone aim trains to hit microshots or micro flicks but high ranks aim that seem good are because of mostly crosshair placement. simple rule: if you have a man advantage, play more passive and trade each other out, you'll end up winning if you trade properly. If you're at a disadvantage, then taking a 1v1 risk to try and even out the number is fine. on equal situations, it depends on a lot of factors like util, ults, health, and the most important one, time. time can be either your enemy or your ally depending on the situation, so take that into account as well.

You shouldnt really be looking at the crosshair, you should be looking at the enemy and youll adjust naturally. Its like driving a car you look where you're steering not the wheel. You should subconsciously have an idea of where the crosshair is when you look at the enemy anyways. I mean this what i think anyways.

the idea of training is that you first consciously train and actively try to implement new ways into your gameplay and at first it's gonna lose you games until you reach the level of subconsciously doing it when it becomes second nature. In general you should NOT look at the crosshair because your subconscious or peripheral vision will know where it is and where it goes while you focus on the enemy and surroundings. We humans see more at once than you think even if you sorta tunnel vision onto an object. It's like this with all trainings, take crosshair placement for example for someone who always shoots the body. at first when you have to actively position your crosshair properly it will lose you a lot of gun fights because you don't do it naturally, but you do exactly that until at some point you start winning the gun fights and crosshair placement becomes a part of you that you don't have to think about. So if you think your crosshair placement is bad, actively work on it until you don't need to anymore.

When talking about this problem we have to take ping and peekers' advantage into consideration. Sure on paper fixing it is the best way to improve but in reality, with how severe peekers' advantage is in higher ping regions shooting fast is your only option when you're put in a gun fight against a 5 - 10ms ping opponent. Of course avoiding unfair fights like that is the number one priority, but you can't always avoid fights especially when you want to rank up fast
