Shooting 1120 arrows in 1.4 min

100 arrows in 18 seconds.
1000 arrows in 25 seconds.
Arab Archery describes shooting 10 small arrows simultaneously (and does not describe feathers on the arrows) it is like a shotgun, you shoot so many arrows that it is not about precision, one of them probably hit !!!
Power from each arrow is very low but if arrows were poisonous (as many historical arrows were) then arrows hitting in the face or other unprotected areas could be dangerous.
Shooting fast 10 handfuls of 10 arrows are not described anywhere in historical sources, I tried to see if it was possible.
It was possible and whether it has any practical use, it is quite fun!!
Very much is questionable and can certainly be discussed.
Shooting multiple arrows simultaneously is historically controversial.
Is it a trick without practical use?
I doubt there is any historical idea in shooting 2 or 3 arrows at the same time.
If you compare shooting 2-3 arrows quickly one by one, then you get much much higher power and precision by arrow shot one by one, and it takes much longer to put several arrows on the string at the same time to be ready for to shoot.
So you can fast shoot the same number of arrows at the same time, with much higher power and precision, so why shoot 2-3 arrows simultaneously ?
10 arrows at a time is of course debatable too.
Very little power and you use a huge number of arrows.
But if the purpose is to spread as many arrows as possible, then you may only need, very quickly made arrows in poor quality.
Although I very much doubt it was widespread in history that archer shot several arrows at once, I thought it was a fun idea with so many arrows and would share it with others too.

I think that, these arrows were shot down from a tower or from fortress. The speed of arrows must increase due to gravity. If the arrows were shot correctly with an angle of more than 0 degree (to increase distance as the speed is low), they could deal a lot of damage. But this might not work while shoting a target above. That's what I think. As during battle on fortress, enemy need to come from the battlefield to the fortress which must be quite a distance, and shooting moving target is already tough. This must be used to defend. I think with that low draw weight bow, piercing cloth might be an achievement. Sure you could penetrate venerable area like eyes or mouth, but if you shoot a chest, even people with ordinary clothing might get slightly irritated and move on anyway. If a 120lbs warbow struggle to penetrate mild steel armor, and 60lb bow couldn't even damage a cloth armor, I don't think this bow could kill a person.

exactly, with a low poundage bow divided by multiple arrows, for example if it is 30 pounds, divided by 10 arrows, you are looking at 3 pounds of draw weight per arrow. that would bounce on skin lol

Agreed. The force is divided among each arrow, so 10 arrows would be 1/10th the maximum range. For Lars, his speed shooting range is already very short as he uses a weak bow and half draws.

Also agreed. You'd have to poison them to get any useful result. And sure, with 10 arrows per shot you're basically guaranteed to hit someone....but at such short range, there's not a poison in existence that will stop them from killing you. This would be suicide to try on a flat and open battlefield.

The logical conclusion to the fast-shooting nonsense. Now it's escalating into a hundred arrows per minutes. Useless arrows without any range or power, but that was already an issue. Before there were all the silly techniques to eliminate a half second off nocking, but now we're actually eliminating it entirely, and just shooting the arrows out of a slingshot! That said, I don't really mind. This is funny, and I don't think Lars is intending this to be taken seriously. It's fun to see that you can do this, to some degree.

Lars in a pitch battle scenario, I would think that spamming thousands of arrows has a massive application in blunting a light cavalry or heavy infantry charge.
