Hi Chris, I have two the sl2 and the S just love them! One thing people don’t realize about image stabilization…….One you are shooting 47mp hand shake, camera shake show up even at 1/125 and the ibis helps to get sharper images even at higher shutter speeds.

Hey Jim, yep 💯! Thanks for the message 😉

Xh2s user. Only had it three months and I keep thinking I should have bought an SL. I just don’t think I’m worthy! It’s for pros. And I’m anything but a pro! Great video. Happy new year.

Thanks - happy new year to you too! Yes the SL is a beast of a camera and while it’s a different category compared to an xH2, there is little to nothing you can’t do with an XH2 😉 - which is a VERY good camera! Take care

My tip for you: The Nitecore ULSL-USB charger for BP-SCL-4 batteries. Affordable and easy to use. I have 2, one for my SL2-set and another for my Q2

Nice review. I just got SL2-S last few months. I have one question. How do you set EVF to get true brightness of your setting without pressing shutter bottom? I want to see the actual light in the EVF while I dial shutter speed, ISO, or f-stop without pressing shutter bottom all the time. Thank you for your advice.

Hello 👋🏼 you need to turn off exposure preview on your camera. Don’t remember which menu it is (am not at the studio currently) but look online you’ll find it 😉 that should help cheers

Very interesting video. I also have a Fuji (X-H2S) and a Leica SL2, but never used both in one wedding. How difficult was the post-processing of your images, e. g. matching colors, contrast,...?
@cris_photography Жыл бұрын
Thanks 🙏 It is actually easier than one might think to edit the files and match them. I usually use a basic preset and I then tweak each photo individually and here the files were pretty easy to match. Cheers Ps: you should try once 😊

Thank you for your video! Is the SL2 an all metal body with metal internals versus plastic? I was pondering trading in our 7-month old Nikon gear for Sony until I read about the internals in the Sony’s and the issues they may have. I rented an SL2 a few years ago and loved the colors straight out of camera. I imagine I would have a learning curve getting to know settings and menus. Would you wait for the SL3? Thanks, JP
@cris_photography9 ай бұрын
Thanks John I believe it is all metal. One REALLY cool thing is the fact that the EVF is glass internally and not plastic (like most other manufacturers). That makes it a much more expensive process to produce BUT will in turn give a much clearer image and crisper looks. I really got addicted to it and even the Fuji GFX 100 II that has a 9.44million dots isn't (imho) as good as the SL2s. The learning curve of the menus will take you max a day or so, it is SO simple compared to... anything else (literally). I'd wait a tiny bit more if I was you... ;) Cheers

@@cris_photography - thank you, Cris! I will wait for the SL3. Have you noticed better colors and rendering with the APO lenses verses the non-APO's?
@TheJalbertstudios Жыл бұрын
I love my SL2 with 35 and 90 APO. What kind of leather harnes do you use? Thank you!

Yes those are amazing lenses indeed! I use desiredleather. Feel free to check my other videos about them on this channel 👍🏼

Great video! I use an SL2 + X-Pro3 combo. Usually do street and landscape photography - haven’t shot a wedding in a few years. My only gripe with the SL2 is its low light performance (which has been an issue for me with all Leica digital bodies so far). Usability tops out at ISO 1600, perhaps 3200 if you push it and use Topaz later. I’ve shot a bunch of martial arts tournaments with it last year and image noise was a major issue, making post processing much longer. How was your experience with that during a wedding?
@cris_photography Жыл бұрын
Thanks Robyn! Yes not the absolute best for lowlight but it performed ok for what I needed. My Fuji cameras handle the noise a bit better in low light but once you hit 3200 you’re starting to see major noise. I try to shoot with a wider aperture to make up for that as much as possible and otherwise… the other solution is either flash or continuous lighting - which I never use during weddings. Cheers!

Great breakdown of the SL2 and the 90mm combo, would you say that it provides you with enough coverage to shoot the entire wedding with only one body/one lens?
@cris_photography Жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, thanks. Honestly, I’d go with a 27 on one side and 90 on the other (2 bodies and lenses). 90 is great for closeups but for example you wouldn’t shoot a group with it - if you see what I mean. Take care

Beautiful pictures, I have the same camera but not that lens, pricy but it worthy, big difference from most of the cameras

So which did you prefer the sl2 or sl2s and would either replace your beloved fujis?
@cris_photography Жыл бұрын
Good question! For vidéo - hands down the SL2s. For photos… I love them both (don’t mind the lesser megapixels in the S version at all and almost prefer it). Don’t think they’d replace my fujis but I’d definitely add a Q or an M for sure 😉

I just photographed a wedding. I had big problems with noise in the pictures. ISO above 2500 there was noise. 6400 iso completely useless if the light is bad. Something can be edited in photosho/lightroom in denoise.
@cris_photography Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your message! I agree in low light - not good. That’s why I shoot with the SL2s only now for events and I can go up 25k or more and keep a pretty good image (and usable!) Take care

After hearing what Lieca charges for battery I'll go with Panasonic.😂 And put Lieca glass on Panasonic. Hey it's getto but it works.😂

I hear ya! That’s an amazing combo as well and since it’s all L mount - it’s gonna give you amazing results 😅😉 cheers
