The narrator (whether it was actually Orwell or a fictional character) reminded me of one of the soldiers in the firing squad that Pierre witnessed in War and Peace. On a side note, do any of your other viewers binge read a bunch of short stories in the span of a few days and then binge watch your videos afterwards, or am I the only weirdo? 😁

Different habits. Some will watch talks as they come out to see if they want to read it. Most common is some people follow along the in-depth playlists on Faulkner and Russian classics

I think being told in first person and not giving the protagonist a name is the reason why so many people think he did it. I think he did it because one of his wives said he did, which I'm not sure if very conclusive. Interesting about the analogy, that would mean that the people are encouraging the colonialist to murder the country so they can feast on the remains, and that feels very in line with themes and critics from other books from neighbouring countries I've read. Loved seeing Orwell on your channel

This is a great analysis.. really Insightful..🫶.. this is a breakthrough of thoughts... Orwell works are quite hard to analyse and this is the great one so far..
