Cunard's new cruise ship, the Queen Anne has a unique mix of art deco and mid century design. Will photographic it on 1950s camera make it look authentically mid-century? How about an 80s camera or a 60s lens? And will a 60s lens on a mirrorless body still look 60s? Lets take some pictures!

Fascinating. I think you need to take a look a NDSM, a former ship yard on the river IJ in Amsterdam. It is a really great place for a few days taking pictures. The mix of industrial heritage, neglect and a flourishing art scene is wonderful. I would love to throw the ever so popular Fuji film simulations into the mix of this comparison. As a colour blind engineer, who is old enough to have shot film, I have always steered toward the best "technical" photo straight out of the camera. Having the Fuji film simulations available has blown my mind and reignited my interest in photography after many years.

I’m loving that Cine Still stock… I want to take a roll or two with me when we head down to the Hastings area in October. I love Seaside towns off season and I think that stock will make it ‘pop’. If I get time, I’d love to do the same at Dungeness… that stock would look incredible on the right day there. Very inspiring, mate.

17:30 Now THIS will blow your mind, its TIME making you feel that the older camera gives you an older feel. Folks back in the day would have looked at the images and said "How modern they look!"

@@mattrichardsonsclickbait The SS Rotterdam is highly recommend by the way. I took a tour with my father a couple of years ago, including the engine room 🤩 We went there by museum tug boat Elbe, which is stationed in Maassluis near Rotterdam. Amazing experience 👌

My wife and I were down at the docks in Wellington NZ yesterday taking photos of old wharf cranes and boats just using our iPhones (slight ashamed face). Love old nautical stuff.

I love collecting old lenses. Perhaps the best find was a 135mm F2 Canon FD lens. While a professional lens, it's old enough to be slightly soft. The small depth of field and focal length make it fantastic for portrait work on a digital body. It's only problem is it's weight being very far forward.

that sounds like a great lens to use, despite the weight

I use my wee Werra 1 or my Taron VR viewfinder cameras when I want to get a nice "vintage" effect, with Fomopan or FP4. And , only my opinion, these really give you the authentic feel. And no modern camera really gives this authenticity, as I say just my opinion, The Agfa has given you lovely images and I see you have shot some Cinestill too :) I feel the blue cast to cinestill can be a wee bit overwhelming BUT incandescent light makes the red end of the spectrum POP and sizzle. I also like to use my old Weston light meter. Love the accidental double exposure :)

Ive not tried those 2 cameras yet, I might have to do a bit of shopping to see what theyre like! I think the Cinestill works well with the Dynax but needs the right subject to look right, shots where strong colours work for you are best with that

@@mattrichardsonsclickbait Yep the cinestill is a good nigh photography film, but you need an incandescent "highlight" to get these famous "aurae" :)
