people talk about Stairway to heaven, Bohemium Rhapsody, Smoke on the water etc... this song should be revered in the same way. An absolute anthem.....

Been listening to this Shooting Star from the beginning. This is definitely a classic anthem that delivers a clear message.

You're right, it's far better than all of those overrated songs; they aren't even close.

Interestingly, before they became famous they Jammed in a garage several houses down from where I grew up, my oldest sister remembers them, I was just a baby, but I do remember music and drum banging when I was outside, and that was in Kansas..lol

This band Shooting Star is a masterpiece of music and is a prophetic view into the world of the end we are living in now. I saw them in Rochester NY in 1981 i believe....they were simply AWESOME

Saw these guys open up for Kansas pt . II, Rush and Triumph. Why they didn't get more recognition is beyond me. They always put on a solid show and sometimes showed up the bands they opened for. Now, when I discovered their music at the tender age of 11; which their music was on an top of the hour rotation on KATT. FM in Okc. Again, why they failed recognition. Is a question to be revisited. Side note: in the early 80s they would open their sets with song. On big openers, they would end their set with a 30-45 minute encore of this great track. Thank you, Gawd, for putting me in the right place; right time, for this awesome band.

When the stranger came to town All the people watched with wonder In their tattered clothes Gathered 'round and raised their eyes up from the dirt And the stranger said to them I have been upon the mountain I have witnessed forces like cannons that can ram you to the ground Stand up on your feet 'Cause your life is short as hell You could be dead tomorrow Today may be you're last chance To believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance To be good to yourself Your last chance To drink from life's well In the crowd a voice was heard Should you get them before they get you? Should we strike the first blow? He said, No No No you don't understand The enemy is in your heart Self respect robbed by self pity Look across the country All the people with their dreams dead in their hearts Stand up on your feet 'Cause your life is short as hell You could be dead tomorrow Today may be you're last chance To believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance To be good to yourself Your last chance To drink from life's well And drink from the well Oh yeah It could be you're last chance To believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance To be good to yourself Your last chance To drink from life's well Drink from the well Oh yeah Drink from the well....

Released when I was in highschool. World's most underrated band. Ohio loved this Kansas band VERY much. Saw them several times. Dayton Ohio at UD Arena and Bogart's on Vine St, I believe, where they recorded a live show for CD. Packed with about 2,000 loyal fans, sounded exactly like the records we listened to so many times. A great stage to perform upon, I played there before in my band. Awesome place near University of Cincinnati campus. Thanks for sharing. I heard Van McClain wasn't feeling well. Does anyone know if he's doing well now? Excellent Channel. Subbed.🎉 Blessings. - Ohio ♥️☀️. ••• Stop by the Channel sometime. #SunSimLord
