The mid 90s were a golden time for comedy in the UK. Along with these guys we had the likes of Father Ted, The Day Today and Brass Eye. Looking back we were blessed to have real satire and slapstick without fear of offending anyone. You can't get away with anything these days. So sad.

I believe a lot of the time that ‘everyone is offended’ is just an excuse. Fact is comedy sketches are more time consuming and expensive to film than reality TV or quiz shows. It’s just easier to make those than put any thought into making decent comedy.

'Shooting Stars' and 'Big Night Out' were two of the best comedy programmes on tv for decades. Vic as Brian Ferry is beyond hilarious, Johnny Vegas as Eno 😆 Bob M is still hilarious on 'WILTY' 😆

Bryan Ferry was only 26 at the time and the rest of the band were younger than him. Jimmy Saville preferred little girls though. Anyone 16 or over was too old for him.
