I go over how I like the GFX 50R and the Mitakon 65mm 1.4 combo because I get asked about it everyday. This is hopefully the first of many videos to come! Please leave any comments on what else you guys would like to see in the future.

Will you make a video on your change to Nikon/Voigtlander instead of this combo and how it compares?

Hey Man, thanks for sharing. I started following you when researching the GFX 50R and the Mitakon lens. I love your style, even though it’s not my own. I find that to be very interesting how I love your look, but end up not trying to emulate it myself. That’s part of why photography, as an art form, is so fun… thanks again.

Thank you so much for the walkthrough. I've been searching for a while in how to go for a film look within Lightroom, and that is spot on. Great work. (Also, secretly wishing to buy a GFX50R).

Can you do more of this? This is really amazing! I am debating whether or not to get the mitakon, and this video is really helpful! Even better, if you can make a video of you shooting using the mitakon! Especially showing the focusing process!

Jon, thanks for this lovely video! I own GFX50R paired with GF50/3.5 However I just don’t enjoy the images that come out of this combo. Always was looking towards Mitakon - it seems to create that “medium for at look”. I love how you develop your photos, great presets - almost undistinguishable from film.

Great video, thanks for sharing! Nice to see some of your workflow with this set up. Have been contemplating picking a GFX (currently running a 645Z) because of all the lens adaptations. Seems pretty like you’ve found a solid setup for your work with this. Congrats and keep it up! Will stay tuned for more for sure.

Congrats on your first video, Jon! It is great to see you in KZbin! I am one of those psychos reaching out on IG to learn about this combo :) I love the look it gives and it is really close to the type if separation I like from the Pentax 105mm for 6x7. I you are searching for ideas: I'd be interested in seeing how you work with your models while doing these sessions, how you shoot on the Pentax 67, and also how other adapted lenses work/look in the GFX. I've heard good things about the Minolta 58mm 1.2, for example and some Voigtlander Noktons with Nikon mount. Greetings from Amsterdam Sebastian

So sold on this camera and also, I have to say I really love your approach to your craft. I'm sometimes the one looking for punch in their images and a bucketload of contrast, and this approach says, 'hang on there, one cotton picking moment' (in the nicest possible way) and let the subject do the talking. Well, with a sensor and lens arrangement like this, it's easier. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and for sharing your skill.

How are you compressing the images for web? I use photoshop and export so that they are 2000px max size, with a quality of 8. Buy sometimes the grain that is added seems to not compress very well. Any ideas?

On the last picture - try to use luminance mask. You will be able to more precisely select the sky and nothing else (like the electric pole),
