Hello Matt and Richard, Thank you for your video footage, I really enjoyed it. That was a great review. Matt, for the new BSA CLX Pro R12 air rifle. Every time mine comes out of the cupboard, my knees go weak. I absolutely adore it. Moving on from the R10, I'd like to mention some points I think BSA has got, so right. The fill probe dust cap, the safety catch, the numbered pellets on the magazine, the last pellet indicator, the red indicator/cocked warning, the air cylinder size, twelve shot magazine, the biathlon cocking lever, shrouded barrel, hammer forged barrel, adjustable trigger, all fantastic points of a fine air rifle. The cost isn't a small amount of money, though I think it's a very fair price considering you could pay much more and recieve much less. I think this is a quality air rifle for the working man. I'm a working class, working man, and I'm very proud of my R12. To me it's gorgeous and I look forward to every time I hold and use it. Thank you to Rich, too. Great, accurate shooting footage again. Best wishes, gentlemen.

Great video. Recently upgraded to a hw100 after wanting one for 20 years. Working on a farm I’m already putting it to work and it’s fantastic. Those shooting sticks look fantastic!

You can’t go wrong with a Hw100 buddy, I’m on my third kt now and I think they are a great all rounder and a proven rifle and very very accurate. I opted for 177 this time having shot 22 for years but ever since I bought an air arms s510 tactical in 177 last year the 177 changed my views on calibre and I’ve never looked back since. I use H&N Terminators in both my rifles and they have hellish knock down power on vermin. Enjoy your new gun fella and shoot straight and stay safe.

As a lifelong field sportsman I've always believed rooks mainly feed on seed,worms,invertebrates and carrion, unlike crows,jackdaws and magpie that predate,therefore I and most people I know don't shoot them, thoughts everyone

@richsaunders6515 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mick. As I said in the film, the rooks aren't an issue with the sheep on the farm next door, unlike the crows and magpies. But they do go for the strawberry crop and strawberry plants. They also defecate over equipment and storage areas. For these two reasons I am contracted to shoot them.

Is it worth considering a better justification for killing corvids' than them performing the natural function of 'pooping'? 1:30

I think you're being a little selective there. In the video I explained that the rooks decimate the fruit plants/fruit crop as well as defecate on equipment. Their droppings potentially spread disease and imperils the health of the workers. I hope that explains.

1200 English pounds for a air rifle, WTF !!!!. Do you require a permit to buy these air rifles ? I realise they are powerful but cost wise surely its a lot cheaper to buy a .22LR ( permit permitting ) for a quarter of that price which has better knock down power plus range, the air rifle looks extremely heavy as well ? You vid shows all your clean kills, do you ever show the unclean ones ( which we all have ) especially using an air gun ( which fire's a somewhat light projectile ) on rabbits ?
@richsaunders6515
@richsaunders6515 Жыл бұрын
Hi Pedro. Here in most of the UK, air rifles 12 ft/lbs or less do not require a permit. Over 12 ft/lbs require a firearms certificate. I've got a .22LR but in situations like the one in the video - shooting birds in a tree - it would be unsafe to use. I also find their tendency to ricochet worrisome too. I shoot .17 HMR for rabbits as well, but not if I intend eating them, or sending them to a bird of prey centre. The simple fact is that I find an air rifle (12 ft/lbs and FAC) pretty much perfect for the majority of my pest control shooting. And yes, of course I sometimes fail to kill cleanly with one shot - but not on this occasion. Thanks for watching.

I'm glad you mentioned the issues with the magazines for £1200 you don't expect to have your flag ship rifle having loading issues..it's been a major problem with this rifle...I agree it does look easy on the eye though.... Another good video Matt...

12 ft pounds? I wouldn't shoot a hole in a can with that . Hunting rabbit? I'm literally surprised it wouldn't bounce off the thing .
@reservedone1791
@reservedone1791 Жыл бұрын
And yet it clearly did. Do you live in the USA by any chance? Most airgun hunting and pest control in the UK is carried out with 12 ft/lbs rifles. Take a look at most of the other episodes on this channel and you'll see how effective they are.
