The hand rest for the valve is genius. The measurement gauge is a great idea. Incredible that it didn't sound like the motor labored at ALL when bending that 1x2 the hard way. Very cool! Thank you so much for sharing it! Very clear that you've got some keen metalworking insight so I look forward to your future videos. Also I really love the look of your shop! Mine is similar: partially fabrication/welding but mainly CNC machine tools (two VMCs and a CNC lathe).

ingenius machine and use, your start stop handle is a great design, coupled with the measurement system you have is sopt on, proven by the bending of 3 pieces.. A2x2 solid bar bend sounds amazing and should you ever need to do somehting like that please commit it to video, I would love to see just how much your machine can do. Well designed and built. Thanks for sharing

hey Doug, I once made a bending die for a 44 ton Dvorak iron worker, it was for bending 1.5" hot rolled round bar 1018...... the bar had threads machined on already, due to the difficulty of putting threads on a curved part.....the part was a steering link for a street cleaner, any way......after 2 bends, I noticed indentations in the die, so it had to be sent out to heat treatment..... well, after heat treating , the welds ended up cracking......wondering if I should have used 4140 or something similar for the dies..... did you have to heat treat your pins ???? and what material did you use.....thanks so much, Paul

Nice machine. Vertical machines save space but don’t allow the cool features yours does.
